I is for Idea's

Tuesday and its I for Ideas.

 Which as some of you have found out doing this A-Z challenge is not as easy some days as others.

The same goes for modelling too, you have to make things, as they are not always commercially available,so have to find ways to make them yourself.

                         

This is a typical example

Can you spot the electrical plug prong, easy when its pointed out to you isn't it.

This is one of Bob the Builders Idea's for a fish tail rudder, which was pointed out to us, known as a Becker rudder.

This makes the boat turn a lot better!.

As you can see when Velda had bought it, it had to be (feminised) added too with seating for the ladies and cheese and wine party, lighting (Christmas fairy lights run from a battery box painted to look like a picnic hamper)

and then the smoke unit.

Another Idea from me this time was the air vents on the top of the Narra Boat.

Mirror screws and caps or furniture caps, will be using the mirror caps as they are a better scale.

Just right!

Everything as well as the Kitchen sink!, which was a 35mm film canister,found at the bottom of the scrap box, not used 35 mm film for years, but the old chestnut "It might come in for something"

The whole kitchen had to be built from scratch as the commercially available ones were too big.

The radar scanner on top of RJR's boat is a Nestle coffee lid.

As is Pepe's water bowl.

The cassette for the inside of the boat, mostly made from scratch, the elephant ornament on the floor at the side of the fire place is a wooden keyring,  I was in a charity shop and thought that might come in for something and at 50p too good to pass up!.

Modern lights for the boat

My boat stand, come seat if required.

When I refurbished my One Metre Yacht I replaced the fabric panels with thin ply and then veneered it, ahh you say what if you need to get in to the works, well my Idea was to stick the panels down with that brown sealer that you use to seal round window frames, it never dries completely and as I don't race the extra bit of weight is no problem.

So as in real life there are plenty of Idea's, you just have to think out of the box! come to think of it what's in the box as well!

Modellers have a squirrel complex, they throw nothing away in case they have an Idea and it will come in!
