Reddish Vale again.

Reddish Vale again.
This Sunday went back to check on the swans, the ones sat on eggs and the ones already hatched!.

The small lake had two newly hatches cygnets out of five eggs, which seen to have been abandoned, but the two youngsters seemed quite healthy.

Proud Dad

Meanwhile the four babies on the big lake have been reduced to three, nature is cruel isn't it.

Mum showing the kids how to get their own food!.

Chewy isn't it!.

Ugly duckling??.

An old lady said to me on the way back to the info centre, " Look at that ducks wing, I think its injured",  but on closer inspection saw something quite cute!.
It was a Moor Hen with a chick and it was keeping it out of the sun which was getting quite hot by then!.

And dad was doing his bit as well keeping them well fed.

So the lady went off and instead of going home and thinking of an injured bird for the rest of the day, went off with a nice happy thought and I think it made her day.

The last view of the day was a nice female chaffinch.

Well that's it for today, hope you like the pictures.
