Lots of Babies at the lake

Lots of Babies at the lake.

Over the past few days there have been lots of babies hatched out at the lake, and here are a few pictures of them.

A couple of Mandarin not so babies

These only a few days old, and a Mallard in the foreground.

 Canada geese babies

Moorhens

The odd Squirrel

There has been a lot of work been done near the Badge sett, banking dug out six feet down and steel wire fencing put in to stop the badgers from digging through to the canal and releasing all the water!.

Good job done by the workmen, so our lake will not disappear down into the river!.

Whilst at the lake Marjorie met a friend of mine.
That's called cupboard love

Last Saturday at Buxton in the park with Pepe.

Just found out my beautiful Oldest G/Daughters results from Manchester University.

Beauty and brains Hey!.

He got married to Miss Right, but didn't realise until the wedding her first name was Always!.

His wife was so fat that last night she washed her dress and hung it out to dry and a troop of boy scouts moved in.

He's got qualifications in biology and metalwork, so if you want someone to weld your budgie he's your man.

Still out and about, June 2015.

Still out and about, June 2015.
Even though the weather is more like March than June!, Marjorie and I have still been getting out and about, shopping, dining out and picking up bargains at the various nurseries and Garden Centres in our area.
Here is my garden at the present time, had plenty of help and expert advice from Marjorie who has been an avid gardener for years and has a beautiful garden of her own!.

This basket finally taking off, been very slow with the cold weather lately!.

Round the park (Etherow, where else) there is still an explosion of baby duckling hatching out.

Mallards

Mandarins

Even spotted these tadpoles in the dipping pond!.

Even the rats are breeding well, enjoying the food thrown down for these female mandarins.

Round the edge of the lake where all the children feed the ducks there are always queues for the free bread and corn bought from the education centre.

Fancy pigeon, not even ringed!.

The more shy ones are round the lakes
Little and large couple.

This one isn't shy, he is always cadging from people at the cafe

Can't wait to get back to the Cafe in case anyone is having a sausage sandwich!

I think he is a Longhaired Chihuahua crossed with a Gannet!.

On the home front finally filled in my new Microwave, though its a higher power, it's much smaller than the old one, can't keep up with technology these days hey!.

Done with offcuts from John's beautiful new kitchen worktops, turned out well!.

Round the lake. June 2015.

Round the lake. June 2015.

Round the lake this week, Pepe and I had coffee and a teacake at the cafe with friends Bob and Joyce with their Greyhound Shadow who they were Doggie sitting for the week for neighbours.
I mentioned in the previous post I'd not seen any Mandarin ducklings and on Monday there these little beauties were!.

Had a sail with my Fiesta yacht on Monday as well.

Repaired my Micro Magic when I got home.

 ...........................................................
Back at the lake!.
 A little tree sparrow.

 A juvenile Moorhen.

On the way up to the hide saw these different types

Can't get away from these beauties.

Up at the hide, what can Pepe see?.

I think this plant is called Ragged Robin.

Then, just managed to catch this Cormorant taking off

Then it was back to the cafe for a drink and a toasted teacake!.

Lot of work going on near to the Badgers sett.
They are going to reinforce the canal wall, but need to cut out the tree roots first that are damaging the wall.

A nice sunny day out, both Pepe and I got home tired but happy.
