My Blog is mostly about my hobbies, ie Model boats, Cross Stitch, Gardening, Days out and about, Lego Technics and Photography you might recognize the hat rather than me. My models and other hobbies can be found in the Tabs at the top below the header picture.
There will also be entries of days out with my camera, weather permitting of course.

Over the weekend.

Friday had a nice day out with Marjorie, had a run up to Uppermill!.
After a look round the garden centre there and a bit of lunch we strolled down the main street and had a look in all the shops.
Near to the shops there is the Saddleworth museum and car park though you are lucky if you can get in there!.
This picture taken from the back of the museum, where there are narra boat trips every couple of hours, our parking ticket wouldn't give us that long so perhaps another day!.

Then it was drop back down to Daisy Nook garden centre to check out their stock and another visit to the cafe of course!, where we met Kean McDonald and his better half (Etherow Club member)  ,so as it was nice and sunny we all sat out on the terraced area and had a good natter putting the world to rights and Kean and I talking Boats.

Marjorie checking out the plants!.

Saturday I was off with Pepe to Etherow Country park, no one sailing so it was off round the lakes to give Pepe and myself I might add some exercise, on the way round saw these birds busy nesting.

This Canadian Goose is on our landing stage at the boat club

A coot in the bushes on the big lake

A tufted duck on our lake, don't see many of these at Etherow

A Mandarin out and about, very busy.

Sunday it was off to Etherow again before going to John's for Sunday Dinner, very nice again too.

To see the activity at Etherow

An old Scot was on his death bed and said to his best friend Jock.
"I bin saving a bottle of whiskey and when I'm gone I want you sprinkle it on my grave", "Will you do that Jock?.
"Och Aye, But would ye mind if I pass it through my kidneys first?.

Its the way I tell em.

Thats all folks!.

Help 4 Heroes

One of our members at the model boat club (Andy Quick) has ask me to include this appeal on my blog, as we already wholeheartedly support this charity at most of our shows and events I don't see why not!.

Andy Quick8 April 18:40
Don't know if this is appropriate but I am asking anyway.
I am acting as a support driver for three RAF pilots who are running 17 marathons in 17 days in honor of the 448 lads who lost their lives in Afghanistan. Do you think you could put a link to their charity on the blog and anywhere else you have access to.
This is the link to site.
Thanks

Andy Quick
Having read the link I think the three pilots doing the challenge are just as much Heros as the people they are doing it for!.

Out and about again

Well, we have been out and about again, not letting the wet weather put us down!.

Debdale park trees in bloom, pity the high winds are causing havoc with the blooms though.

A close up, not bad for a phone camera is it.

Refurbished my rainbow ornament and added a few more pots to the fence.
The rainbow is lasting well as it must be 8-9 years old now, so it was a rub down and a few coats of stain varnish and a new set of DVDs to bring it back to life, brilliant when the sun is out!.

Must be doing something right, as all the plants I've put in are thriving.

Cherry Cola

Silver veins

This is the latest addition to the back garden, an Acer japonica, should be alright in this pot for a few years and then perhaps a new home in Marjorie's  front garden then.

Pepe, the McDonalds fan!.

On his new bed.

In his night bed with Teddy, he was lying like than when I took the photo, how Teddy got his arm round Pepe is a mystery to me.
Looks a bit like me in my recliner chair I suppose.
Well that's it for now, still thinking about the Green goddess planter, mentioned in the previous post.

If you like Dogs check out Son John's A-Z blog on his Cockapoo's

He nervously faced his boss "My wife told me to ask you for a rise".
"Okay, I will ask my wife if you can have one".

Charlie's taken up meditation.
Well, its better than sitting around doing nothing isn't it.

News flash
A helicopter crashed into a cemetery of an irish village this afternoon.
At the last count, 745 bodies have been recovered.

Its the way I tell em.
