January 2020.

Why did I open my big mouth!, I said in my last post in 2019, that I'd had a good year and hoped that 2020 you would as good, well up to now it hasn't been, that's why my posts this year have been a bit sparse.
Firstly I've had the bug that seems to have been doing the rounds of the country, with headaches, sneezing and chills!, this lasted for two weeks and it made me quite lethargic and posting my blog was the last of my thoughts.
This last week been out and about with friends and one of their daughters up from Torquay which was nice to see her and take them out to dinner at our favorite watering hole The Kingfisher in Greenfield where we had the usual nice meal!.
Another thing that's been a bit of a downer this week was that my hearing aids have crashed out on me so it was off to SpecSavers for an hearing test, the nice lady there looked in my ears and said my left ear had a lot of swelling and I had to admit I do poke my ears with cotton bugs which I know is wrong, but one of the problems with hearing faults is that they itch like mad and it's all very good for people to say don't do it, but until you've had it, it very hard not to do!.
The outcome of that is she gave me a letter for my GP, I called on the way home and couldn't get an appointment until Wednesday, There is still a notice outside the surgery saying "We are taking new patients", why? when they can't service the ones they have say I!, Its the Money isn't it!!.
Thinking I might have my new aids for my beautiful younger granddaughters wedding on the first of February, it now seems it's going to be the end of February!. Good job I can lip read but there again that's not an exact science.
After that disappointment took the little hound over to Mcdonalds for lunch and as it had stopped raining took him into the park and there on a big tree was a Treecreeper which I've been after for weeks, but wouldn't you know it no camera with me, only my iPhone which normally take good pictures but the zoom is nothing like my camera, Aah well hopefully there will be another day, did look today but to no avail!.
Just seen this Xray on the internet of a young woman who was in a crash and had her feet up on the dash board, I've always stopped people doing that for years and now the police have issued this Xray which clearly shows one femur sheared off and the other snapped off and that's not counting the internal injuries, so tell your friends, your not worrying about the scratches on your dashboard it's their pelvis your worried about!.

On a happier note here are a few pictures taken down the Vale before the dreaded bug struck me!.

The beautiful Jay

The acrobatic Nuthatch.

The lady Blackbird.

A Coal Tit.

Don't forget an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Will try and keep posting a little more often for the rest of the year, now I've stopped feeling sorry for myself, you know what guys are like when they are ill!.

New Years day 2020.

Firstly,
Happy New year to all our readers!.

Had a ride down to Reddish Vale Park, but it was quite cold so didn't stay long, just long enough to top up the feeders in the Community Garden. But not much happening there, the saying mad dogs and English men got out in the midday sun might also include the cold dull days as well!.
There were three new swans on the lower mill pond, but they were asking for trouble when the resident male saw them.

Then he appeared in full attack mode powering down the pond.

And the chase was on.

The youngster was getting a bit frightened, but didn't actually take flight which was a shame as it usually creates some good pictures.

Plenty of little gulls about, bet they've never seen the sea, perhaps live on the local tip.

A nice friendly Robin appreciated some of our seed from home as the Info Centre was closed.

A few Mandarins about, this one on the top mill pond.

This one on the lower mill pond, has you can see with him out of the water his undercarriage is mostly white.

Here he is with his Misses

The local McDonald's was heaving with customers and couldn't even get in to the car park, so went to the local KFC, which wasn't that busy and after trying their wares were not surprised, so don't think I'll be going there again, still what's one mans poison is another man's treat or something like that!.

How do you know when its time to tune your bagpipes?.

What if the hokey cokey really is what its all about!.

Why don't you ever see the headline, 'Psychic wins lottery'

Do illiterates get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?.
