The model is fitted with two geared motors and independent 15 amps Mtroniks speed controllers, also a Graupner bow thruster. Power is one 6v-10amp battery , the receiver is a AR6200 and the transmitter is the Spektrum DX6i which we find very good The hull was painted Red Oxide (from the car shop) then Plastikote Bright Red (B&Q) above the waterline; the superstructure was Toyota White (car shop). 30 lights run from a switched 2AA box bought from the Christmas display at the garden centre. The deck clutter is a mixture of container (from Model Slipway), small crates (Mac's Mouldings) and the rest scratch built. The crew figures were from George Turner Models. The instruction booklet and plans were first class as were my other Model Slipway kits (Wyeforce and 10-hatch Coaster) which were my first ever ventures into model boat building with motors. Knowing that there is someone at the end of the phone to help and advise is a comfort. Thank you Model Slipway, the only thing now is What Next !! from a great selection to choose from. Peter Teal |
