10 Hatch Coaster

The 10 hatch coaster is a kit supplied by Model Slipway see Here they are sited in Barnsley. we went to the factory after making an appointment and got a nice friendly welcome again
I chose the 10 hatch coaster because I thought I could adapt the deck to take different deck loads and it worked out very well as you can see I've got a box of decks now. 5 boats for the price of one !
The handle on the box is because your always forking out money for something !
The kit was was very good quality and all the white metal fittings only needed the minimum of cleaning up .
Considering this was only my second big build with motors fitted it went together surprisingly well, though it was mainly down to the excellent instructions and scale plans, and the thought that Model slipway was only a phone call away, which wasn't necessary by the way
Power supply is a 6v 10amh lead acid battery and the motor is a MFA 500 geared 1 to 2.5 supplied by Model Slipway at the time of purchasing the kit, this set up gives you sailing all afternoon on the same battery
The control system is an AR 6200..2.4 gig Spectrum receiver and M'tronic's 15amp speed controller and this is controlled by a DX6i transmiter
All in all a great kit and as it was only my second electric build I was very pleased with myself and promptly got my self back to Barnsley for another kit.
