Reflections of Daisy Nook Country Park.25.5.2018.

Just had a new Boiler fitted and having workmen in your house and ripping up floors and carpets is always traumatic isn't it, so it was off to Daisy Nook to wind down and where better than there!.

Some reflections whilst at Daisy Nook this past few days.

Got yeh, Picture only just though.

Who's a clever boy then?.

What's he doing on my Perch?.

I'll ignore him!.

Can't stand it anymore!, I'll have to shift him.

Pushed him off.

And don't come back while I'm busy fishing.

You'r a big bully Daddy Long Legs!

Ablutions.

Does my bum look big when I'm flying?, going to see the Terror-pin get kicked off the Heron's perch again.

I'm  not sure ducks or fish like nuts, but someone must think so.

Big Daddy still wandering around waiting for his wife to get Cracking, excuse the pun!

Not quite a Pandora leg ornament but I've heard there is an economy drive at the council!.

Not as aggressive away from the nesting area .

Last but not least only this Dunnock came to feed today, I must have been a bit late for dinnertime.

So it was back to the cafe for a bite to eat and a cuppa, and to see if anything else has been added to the decorations, always something interesting been added, looking quite nice and retro now, check out 'Friends of Daisy Nook' on Facebook.

Tuesday at Reddish Vale, 15.5.2018.

Had a change on Tuesday and went to Reddish Vale Country Park, for those of you who don't know where it is, it's one of the country parks on the North side of Stockport.

This is the River Tame that runs through it, you can just see a white speck on the bank on the left that's a lone swan having a rest after searching for a mate.

Nice little Chaffinch

Lovely little birds and here is the female of the species!

Looking in the crystal clear water it seemed that the bottom was covered in black then realised it was all Tadpoles!, if they all survived we would be knee deep in frogs, but they are part of the food chain and will be breakfast, dinner and lunch for Herons and all the other birds in the area I suppose!, tough though it is.

The resident Swan is still sat on her nest and doing a good job keep turning the eggs.

Near to the Swans nest was this Terrapin sunning itself ,

And a bit nearer with the zoom.

On the other side of the lake were these others.

Another, and on closer inspection they look really colourful don't they, its a pity that a lot of parents just walk past with their mobile phones glued to their ears and don't notice the wildlife under their noses to point out to their children.

Top of the lake near to the railway arches were these baby Coots scooting all over the place,

Another brood being feed by mother,

Dad helping out too.

And there's more.

More on the way too.

This one is a bit bigger and doesn't know it yet but will be soon put into service when Mum and dad have their second blood and he will be expected to help out with feeding them, one of the only birds that are used like this, their not daft coots are they, most waterfowl see off their young when they are expecting again don't they!.

Wednesday at Daisy Nook
That's it for another day, was quite cool today at Daisy Nook after the hot weather we've been having so didn't stay long and instead called at friends Bob and Joyce on the way home to see how they were doing and letting them see Pepe as they are his Auntie and Uncle!.
.....................................................................................
Why are Dolphins smarter than humans,
Within three hours they can train a man to stand at the side of a pool and feed them fish!.

What's a quark?.
The noise made by a well bred Duck!.

Monday at Daisy Nook,14.5.2018.

Monday at Daisy Nook turned out to be Heron Day, they seemed to be everywhere!.

First news though is that the lady in waiting is still waiting!

Eggs still there and she keeps turning them, she is very attentive.

Dad still on patrol.

Ain't that a kick in the head, (Frank Sinatra?)

Coot.

moorhen.

Then just as I thought of going back to the Cafe for another drink or an Ice Cream saw this Heron land in the top of a tree on the other side of the canal near the Swans nest, perhaps he thought she was due as well, hope not!.

Predators but a lovely looking bird, and that's life isn't it, the horrible food chain!.

So with these good pictures returned to the Cafe a happy fellow.
