Tuesday at Reddish Vale, 15.5.2018.

Had a change on Tuesday and went to Reddish Vale Country Park, for those of you who don't know where it is, it's one of the country parks on the North side of Stockport.

This is the River Tame that runs through it, you can just see a white speck on the bank on the left that's a lone swan having a rest after searching for a mate.

Nice little Chaffinch

Lovely little birds and here is the female of the species!

Looking in the crystal clear water it seemed that the bottom was covered in black then realised it was all Tadpoles!, if they all survived we would be knee deep in frogs, but they are part of the food chain and will be breakfast, dinner and lunch for Herons and all the other birds in the area I suppose!, tough though it is.

The resident Swan is still sat on her nest and doing a good job keep turning the eggs.

Near to the Swans nest was this Terrapin sunning itself ,

And a bit nearer with the zoom.

On the other side of the lake were these others.

Another, and on closer inspection they look really colourful don't they, its a pity that a lot of parents just walk past with their mobile phones glued to their ears and don't notice the wildlife under their noses to point out to their children.

Top of the lake near to the railway arches were these baby Coots scooting all over the place,

Another brood being feed by mother,

Dad helping out too.

And there's more.

More on the way too.

This one is a bit bigger and doesn't know it yet but will be soon put into service when Mum and dad have their second blood and he will be expected to help out with feeding them, one of the only birds that are used like this, their not daft coots are they, most waterfowl see off their young when they are expecting again don't they!.

Wednesday at Daisy Nook
That's it for another day, was quite cool today at Daisy Nook after the hot weather we've been having so didn't stay long and instead called at friends Bob and Joyce on the way home to see how they were doing and letting them see Pepe as they are his Auntie and Uncle!.
.....................................................................................
Why are Dolphins smarter than humans,
Within three hours they can train a man to stand at the side of a pool and feed them fish!.

What's a quark?.
The noise made by a well bred Duck!.
