Nice few days 22-23.2.22.

Nice few days 22-23.2.22, at the Debdale nature Centre sat on my Haversack seat in the sunshine, wasn't too cold as we were wrapped up well, with Pepe in his coat too.

Had a nice chat will a nice young lady on the Wednesday who had a puppy with her, so with us both having dogs it breaks the ice and one soon get's chatting, can't understand people who go out and walk round with a miserable face and don't talk to anyone.

I was approached by one of the Centre volunteers as well who said he liked my picture of the Dunnock and it reminded him of his father in Russia who had a farm and plenty of Dunnocks!, so that made my day, the fact it had given this chap a happy memory.

This pair of Ring Necked Parakeets, seem to be regular visitors these days, and why would they go hunting for seeds in the trees when there is a plentiful supply at the centre and safety too.

It did start to rain at one point and the birds went under cover,
You know what they say about "Mad dogs and English Men going out in the midday sun", well it stands for them going out in the rain too.
It's no use being worried out rain living here which is known as Manchester the Rainy City!.
Did manage to capture this Long Tailed Tit though.

As you can see on the poster in the background you can learn Yoga here too, and there were a few couples doing those different stances round the centre, though the rain put a stop to that as well.

Well Putin has finally shown his hand and invaded the Ukraine early this morning so I know all the UKs thought's will be with them, I used to have Ukraine next door neighbours on both sides of me and found them very nice people. Even been to a Ukraine wedding!.

The old chap told me how the Germans and then the Russians overran their country during WW11 and now they are suffering again!.

How about the Cannibal who ate his mother-in -law,

She still didn't agree with him!.

What's the most important thing to do if you're captured by
cannibal?,

Keep calm and try not to get in a stew!.

Today 22.2.22 in Debdale Nature Centre

Today, 22.2.22 in Debdale Nature Centre it was quite nice out of the wind and plenty of activity in the garden.

This pair of Ring Tailed Parakeets showed up, the male with a more pronounced ring round his neck.

There's always someone trying to get in your pictures isn't there, as you can see with the Blue Tit in the background.

Give us a high five.

Who loves ya Baby!.

Plenty of Goldfinches on the sunflower hearts.

The Robins

And a cute little Blue Tit.

You might think this is a sparrow, but look at its slim beak and that means its a Dunnock!.
Usually not seen in the trees but feeding on the ground.

The Squirrel Cafe, but its visited by the birds as well, after I put some Mealworms on the front platform.

Check this out on YouTube, my sister does in Australia!.

With the Children off school this week the team have been helping them build this Bug Mansion in the park.

My Goldfinches haven't left me and gone over to the park, there again its only two minutes flight over there and could be eating there as well as Teal Towers!.

So a good day, though the weather forecast was terrible, the River Mersey south of us is in flood, the highest on record!.
.............................................
Two cannibals are relaxing after a big meal, one turns to the other and says "Y know, that missionary we had has given me terrible indigestion", the other one say's You know what they say, you can't keep a good man down".

TUESDAY, 15.2.22.

Over the weekend, notices appeared all over our area of side streets, saying that we were going to have our side streets re-covered and any cars not moved on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday would be towed away.
Can you imagine the trouble trying to find parking places these days!, when a lot of households have more than one car!.
Rained heavily on Monday so no workers turned up, today Tuesday they turned up and one said your cul-de-sac is good and we would only make it worse!, after seeing their efforts on the other roads I quite understood what he meant!.
Anyway by the time we got home from our wandering and dinner at McDonalds, they had finished and all notices taken down, so we are back to normal again.
The other day I put this on my post and my sister in OZ said I saw you on YouTube at the bird table.
Looking at it myself there was I seeming to be taking Monkey nuts off the table and mate Bob said "didn't realise you were that hungry!".
But to explain!, I had put the monkey nuts on the table and then remembered that Vicki had said the little hut on the top of the trellis was a Squirrel feeding station so repositioned the monkey nuts there!.

The Peregrines at Pear Mill this week seem to be showing interest with each other as do most of the wildlife in the park.

In the Cafe there, Mate Peter was given an unusual teapot, which I think the staff thought was the thing to do has he had just had to have his old dog put to sleep, not sure what he thought of that!.
But the owners did give us all a slice of cake on the house to cheer us up, which I thought was nice of them.

Got a nice milk jug this week as well.

At home the Blackbirds are enjoying the berries on my bushes.

Made a slight modification to the window box feeder (Jaquie bought me for my birthday) put in some perches as the little birds hadn't anything to stand on so it wasn't getting used at all.

Half way though February already hey, at least the days are getting longer, hate the long nights!.

Friday 4 February 2022

First few days of February, 4.2.22.

The first few days of February have been quite wet and cold!.

But Thursday after our trip to Pear Mill Café it was too nice to go home so we went to the Wildlife Nature Centre in Debdale park to find that Chris and Vicki are back after their spell of Covid, they say they are still feeling lethargic during the day but back on duty at the centre.

Whilst there we captured these pictures but only had the pocket camera with us.

There were quite a few of these Long Tailed Tits on the fat ball feeders.

Great Tit on the table.

Nuthatch on the table.

Seemed to be Robins everywhere.

There were also Goldfinches on the feeders.

There is now a camera connected to YouTube centred on the bird table, so you can see what's happening sat by your fire!.

There was a Jay on the table today on-line, so hope to see that for real in the next few days.

I thought this was a bird box, but was told it is a Squirrel feeding station. didn't see any Squirrels on it but plenty of birds when I put some seed on the platform there.

Down on the Lower Resser we saw this nice heron.

A Great Crested Grebe.

A  Pigeon Fest!.

There's always one Canada Goose who want's to get in the picture.

Back home, my Goldfinches are doing well, only seem to be three adults here now though, perhaps the youngsters have gone over to Debdale!.

The Dunnocks are still in attendance.

It's not been too bad today (Friday) though its been "rain stopped play", the only good thing is "The Chicken Legend" is back on the menu at McDonalds!.

Why are women called bird's, because they tend to pick up worms

If blind people wear dark glasses, why don't deaf people wear earmuffs?.

A barking dog never bites, well at least not while its barking!
