Woke up today to bright sunshine and thought the weather forecast I'd seen the day before couldn't have been more wrong, but by the time I'd showered and shaved it became apparent that the forecast was right after all, it was a light drizzle so decided to go out anyway!.
We went to Reddish Vale as there was a Easter Do on there.
The band setting up
What a pity the weather was the usual bank holiday kind!.
The volunteers
Setting up the Easter trail for the children.
The rear of the visitor centre, on our walk to the fields.
This is at the entrance to the playing fields.
Signs round the Vale.
Then on to the lakes to see the wildlife.
The baby Moorhens are doing well.
The Swans nesting.
Having a snack of grass cuttings.
The Grebes still on the nest can't see any babies yet!.
Dad, very attentive.
The Mandarins all very aggressive looking for mates.
This Mallard seems to have quite a following.
This Coot has quite a big nest Hey!.
Resting before the crowds arrive.
Then it was home to dry out!.
Pity about the weather for the event!, hope it didn't stop too many turning out!.
