Saturday we were at Etherow Country Park!.

These were the only Mandarins about, think the others were on the top lake breeding.

Out in the middle of the big lake this Great Crested Grebe was relaxing after a hard days breeding!.
Can't we keep walking instead of keep stopping to photograph everything in sight?.
It is quite hot today though.
Sunday we were at Reddish Vale!.
The Moorhens with their babies were doing well
Both going well.
Both swimming as well.
Dad scavenging for the larder.
Just over a week old and already preening and washing themselves.
No sign of babies with the nesting Grebes here.

A bit of work being done on the banking of the railway, have to work at the weekend so as to not to disrupt the passenger trains on Monday morning.
