Reddish Vale, Monday, 13.10.2025.

Not been down the vale for a while, so on Monday decided it was time to go again. On my walk round took my secateurs to trim back the weeds that aways try to come out onto the path, which can be dangerous if at eye level.

Looks like the volunteers have been busy again with this nice planter.

Some nice Gadwalls on the lower mill pond.

The swan family are doing well and the four youngsters are nearly and big as their parents.

When will I get a yellow beak like you Mum?.

When you are a bit older, then it will be time for you to fly the nest and find your own place!.

Only one cormorant on the day

Tufted Duck with an itch.
Nice floral arrangement again on the lower mill pond.

On the way home it was a mini fish and chips at my local Morrison's,
if that's a mini what's a full size one like!, a bit over facing for me.

Back home the sparrows are eating me out of house and home.

My berries are looking good, the Blackbirds love them in the winter

Reddish Vale, 8.9.2025.

It was Reddish Vale again for me yesterday, it was nice and quiet, sunny as well. though the lack of rain is causing a lot of duck weed on both top and lower ponds.

This young heron on the top mill pond was only a few yards away from me, so I took advantage of that.

Asleep with one eye open!.

Little Grebe on top mill pond.

Hand feeding the pigeons, as though I had any choice!.

There was only one big Terrapin out on the day.

A Woodie telling a pigeon off, "I was here first push off"

Lower mill  pond with an older Heron.

Crow enjoying a monkey nut.

My favourite bench on the lower mill pond.

Decorative bush brightening the place up.

Not sure what these blue berries are, but there are loads of them about if your interested.

Back home a young starling in the garden competing with dozens of house sparrows.

My bushes have lots of red and yellow berries on which the blackbirds love during the winter.

This is my friend coming for her evening treat, she enjoys the two gardens to explore and she keeps the cats away from my bird feeders.

I finally got one of the new £1 coins!.

Friend Jean got it me!

Missed the blood moon, only got it later when it came into view from my garden, very bright but not Red!!.

Next events for you.

Sunday At Reddish Vale, 6th May 2018.

Though it was a Bank Holiday I was there early and got a parking spot, it wasn't that busy early on, and after a cuppa in the Information Centre, Pepe and I set of  round the lakes and came across plenty of wildlife.

Just near the Swans nest there were these Terror-pins.on the far bank.

Quite big but seen bigger here before

Loveee is in the airrr!.

Beautiful aren't they, not loved by fishermen though!.

First Coot Babies I've seen this year.

A face only a mother could love hey!

More on the way as well by the look of it.

Then saw these antics by a Swan and a Canadian goose.
It was the Goose's nest with an egg in it, but the swan was claiming the lake whilst his mate was on their nest.

On the way back to the tearooms for a snack to put me on until I went to Johns (Son) for Sunday dinner, spotted another Terrapin climbing out of the water.

So though not expecting much, was pleasantly surprised on the day, the only down side was No Coins, there again the Cafe was quite busy by then and probably didn't have time to sort the till out, can't win en all hey!
