Great Granddad Again, 27.6.21.

This week learned I was a Great Grand dad again!, third one, Henry Arnold Teal arrived at noon on the 22nd June up in Scotland where his mum & dad now live. (9lb 4oz's.)

We had another surprise this week as my Eldest Grand daughter visited us with one of my other Great Grand son's Barnaby!.

Yes that's me without the hat!.

Pepe brought him his little teddy but Barnaby was more interested in getting a hand full of that hair.

I looked at my driving licence the other day and I think I look younger now, perhaps I'm going into my second childhood do you think!.

Had a look round the Gorton Reservoir this morning and the young Goslings seen to be nearly as big as their parents now, hasn't taken that long.

The young Coots are doing well too.

Back home, the back garden is looking a bit more colourful at the moment, and the young birds are eating me out of house and home.

Could do without this one though, made a mistake of putting those coloured suet pellets on a bird table and in the night it rained and they went all soggy, won't be doing that again.

Baby Goldfinch showing off its yellow wing feathers.

Mum & Dad with a baby, the babies are feeding themselves now.

Parenthood a little easier now that the babies are feeding themselves.

A big woodpigeon.

Nicely marked pigeon likes the sunflower hearts as well.

So even though I've have a bad week of hay fever, seem to be ok otherwise and both doses of the vaccine seem to be working.
Sorry to hear that Matt Hancock has resigned, I thought he had been doing a very good job, but wasn't to know there was a hidden camera in his office, what's the world coming too these days, pity the security people weren't doing as good a job as him!.

Dog Groomer Day, 22.6.21.

Today we were up early to go to the Dog Groomers in Oldham , we were a bit apprehensive as it was the first time seeing the new owner, but on arrival it was the original owner and it seemed that the new owner had had a car accident and injured her ribs, so the original owner had stepped in to help out!.

Having to be up in Oldham for 10-00 we were up early and to my surprise there in my garden were the baby Goldfinches tucking in to the Sunflower seeds, a couple of weeks ago when I first saw them this year they were being fed by their parents,

Very young babies, wings flapping Feed me, Free me!.

Today they were tucking in to the Sunflower seeds by themselves, so are growing up nicely.

These are the parents with their red faces, which the babies don't get until after their first moult.

After Pepe's grooming we came back down to Debdale Park for an Apple Pie and a Coffee at McDonalds and a walk to the Reservoir.

The Canadian Goslings in various stages of growth.

This one seems almost fully grown.

This beautiful Great Crested Grebe was quite close to the bank amongst the geese, still no mate about.

Last, but not least there were quite a few of these Tufted Ducks about.

After sunning ourselves for an hour it was time to pop round to our friends Bob and Joyce to see them and have a chat and put the world to rights again.
On the way there we stopped off at the Windmill Pub to see what the situation was there with the Carvery, and it was almost back to normal I was told!, the only change was that you had to point out what you wanted and the staff put it on your plate, still could have as much as you wanted but I suppose they didn't want every Tom, Dick and Harry handing the ladles, which sounds quite reasonable as the Virus is still around isn't it!.
So it was another good day for us, hope yours was as nice.

Ashton Moss nature reserve today, 15.6.21.

Today after a bacon buttie at the Snipe we had a wander up to Ashton Moss Nature reserve, its only small, but as they say perfectly formed, with a couple of picnic tables to sit down at.

Plenty of Canadian goslings about, and its a bit worrying  for their safety, as the babies are very trusting and come right up to you!.

As you can see there are various sizes in this creché.

Getting quite big now.

The pigeons having a nap after a good feed of seed.

A sparrow with a treat for a lucky baby.

There's the baby too.

The babies hiding in the bushes.

This Jackdaw doesn't have to hide from anything.

The day before this squirrel was enjoying French fries at McDonalds.

This used to be the site of  The Pomona pub, which was very well known in the past round Manchester, now after years of wondering what its going to be replaced with its now a block of flats.
As you can see the bus top is right outside the front doors!, the residents won't be impressed with that will they!.

Got this recommend from Amazon this week, and as it states "May be available at a lower price from other sellers", It certainly  was for me as I'd just bought it on Sunday at my favourite charity shop in Ashton for £2!, plus a three novel book by Robert Crais and another by James Patterson for £1 each, so all for £4!, I do love a bargain, there again they will all be going back again to be sold again so it's a win win situation for everyone.

Not worried about these two puzzles being Christmassy better than sat worrying about the virus increasing again.

Past Week, 12.6.21.

This past week we have been to Pear Mill Café  again and afterwards was lucky and saw the baby peregrines again.

Do you think Mum will be coming back with some food?.

Think we are supposed to feed ourselves from now on!.

One of the babies got up on to the roof on Thursday!.

Due to road works this week in the centre of Stockport went via  the M60, which meant I could give the car a bit of an opening up, but not for long as there's a 50mph section at Bredbury, but the good thing on the way home I called at Homebase as it wasn't too hot  to leave Pepe in the car for a short while whilst I popped in to Homebase to get a couple of fan trellis's for my back garden.

Yesterday after a bacon Buttie at the Snipe retail park called at Mockridge Nursery to get another Clematis, I had two but needed a third, for the right hand side.

They had a wonderful selection of them there!, I picked one up and moved down the line saw another so swopped them and carried on down the line doing that until I finally found the one I thought was the best.

Will give myself and my new neighbours (who ever they might be) a bit more privacy

Think once it gets established it will look great.

So another good week for us.
Kept busy with another hard Jigsaw puzzle, which I finished this morning, surprising how the time flies when you are engrossed in doing jigsaws.

1,000 pieces.

This one took me over a week to do!, but as I said its surprising how the time flies and its only Pepe barking for his dinner that I realize the time.
So if you are depressed get to the nearest charity shop and get a second hand Jigsaw!, this one only cost £2, so a cheap weeks amusement.

Remember my Sister saying they always have a big Jigsaw going on cruise ships and they had one on the QE 11 when they went to the States.
