Is it spring ?

After dinner to-day we proof read the club directory to make sure it was right before going to the printers on Monday, then seeing the sun out and too late to go to Etherow Country park our usual haunt we decided to have a walk round our local park " Debdale"
Entrance on Hyde Road
Facing the bowling green

Facing the football pitches

Round to the play school
As you can see its nice and colourful at the moment, but that sun is deceptive and there was a cool wind, so it was a quick stroll round the bowling green for Pepe and back home to a warm fire.
There again it is still February, but after the snow its tempting to get out isn't it.

Pepe update

Took Pepe to the Vets to-day for what we hoped was his final check up on his leg operation, after a good examination he was pronounced  fit as a Butcher's Dog, after another clipping of his rear nails which hadn't worn down with his reduced exercise,  it was off to the counter for his pick or two out of the treat bowl .

So its all ready for the summer now, guarding the landing stage at the lake from those pesky ducks and geese!!

Many thanks to Pets at Home at the Snipe Retail Park at Ashton for an excellent job and treatment of our pet

Electrics finished

Yesterday afternoon I got back to the Narra Boat and fitted the electrics, the power battery will be fitted under the front well seating, bit of a tight fit but leaves the rest of the boat for fitting out with furniture.
Will be laid down of course, 6v 4.5amh.

777 Motor fitted

Mtronics Viper 15amp ESC
Had this in the good old spares box, and have always used these.

Together with a 3003 servo for the rudder that had been fitted earlier, fitted a Spektrum AR 6200 which I'd had in another boat that went free to a good home, he didn't have a Spektrum so it wasn't mean taking it out and they do cost quite a bit.
As you can see the AR6200 has two units and double aerials joined with that Black Orange and Grey cable, this is an over the top unit for a boat as usually they are in planes for better reception that are nearly out of sight and our lake is not that big, anyway what will do a lot will do a little won't it.

Last but not least bound the receiver to the Tranny a DX 6i  so that's the hull almost finished , oh must remember to order the front and rear fenders from the guy that had a stall at Birchwood but didn't have my sizes in stock there.

Yacht terms

When I first started into yacht sailing people would say things to me and I was no wiser as I didn't know the names of the lines and rigging on the boat, so I thought I would publish this item I found on the web a few years ago.  If I'm teaching my Grandma to suck eggs I'm sorry but this post is for the guys out there just starting out into sails or new to the hobby.

And for the lines going to the controls for the rudder and sails.

I've found the most important thing on sail winches is the tensioner spring or elastic to keep the sheeting line on the pulley, I had lots of trouble until I installed one of these,  I use one of those ponytail elastics acquired from her indoors ! but keep your eye on it in case it perishes.

Blogging

Using Blogger

It crossed my mind, that to-days visitors have come here from varies links. Some of you will be frequent bloggers who are familiar with the format and what its all about. Others may have "popped in" for a look having responded to an email invite and of course some of you may have followed a link from else-where.

Blogger was launched in 1999 by Pyra Labs and taken over by Google in 2003. The general idea of a blog can be thought of as an online diary, it has become a popular format in recent years and is often used by individuals rather than having a traditional website. Its free service to both writer and reader, funded by the Google advertising empire

This section you are reading is the current "post". A post is like a diary entry and they are organised with the newest entry at the top, therefore as you scroll down the page the entries get older.
Down the right are various "Gadgets" ...
The top gadget at the moment, "Blog archive" which is a quick index to all the posts or entries that have been made.
The next one down is "Pages" which are there all the time with information of the boats I've built and equipment we use.
"Followers" are other bloggers who have elected to be kept upto date with posts I am making.
At the bottom of each post is a comment option, clicking on this opens a list of other peoples comments and a box for you to make a comment yourself. You will be asked to select a profile to comment as, if you don't have a google profile, no problem, select anonymous, but it would be good if you could give me a clue in the  text who you are so others can see your entry.

Doggie Dentures - PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX® Commercial

One for the dog lovers out there, Pepe has these every day as a tooth out at the vets costs over £100 these days and whilst it won't stop teeth going bad it certainly helps keep them clean and getting a tooth brush in a Chihuahua's mouth is a problem!
I did contact Pedigee when we got Pepe because we could'nt buy the miniature size and was told they didn't have any call for them, I told them that times change and all the celeb's have little dogs and everyone seems to follow suit.
So I am down to buying the next size up size and cutting them in quarters for Pepe, the things we do for ours dogs.
Pepe is doing great now after his operation and is allowed out for little walks twice a day.
