Weekend 20-21.11.21.

Good weekend, though a bit chilly.

Had a walk on to the Debdale ressers on Saturday after a visit to McDonalds where we found out our favourite lunch The Chicken Legend is off the menu until after Christmas, so it was back to the Chicken Selects!, also the Apple Pies were off until after Christmas, though in their place are the Festive Pies, which proved to be just as nice!.

Onto the reservoir we found a family of Little Grebes fishing in the far corner, so had to brave the muddy paths to get a bit nearer.

They are very shy and hidden in the bushes.

So I did the same and got these better shots of them fishing.

Coot getting its feet warm out of the water.

This post is new to have any bugs in it.

A visiting juvenile Swan.

Coming back to the car park though the autumn leaves saw this nice  KIA Venga, who is the lucky guy to own this, ME!.

Pepe in his night bed sleeping off his walk.

Sunday we went to the Snipe for a bacon buttie and whilst sat there watching everyone coming out of B & Q with their DIY stuff,
it must have given me a burst of energy, cause I came home and varnished all 17 cupboard doors and drawers in my kitchen.

So Finally finished the kitchen and it's looking very nice though I say so myself.

Whilst at the Snipe we went to Home Bargains to see if they had any Money Wallets, as last year they were over a £1 each at Morrisons!.

Home Bargains price 99p for a pack of four, love a bargain!.

Today, Monday was at Pear Mill and saw the Peregrine Falcons were back.

Pepe's chair Gone!, 16.11.21.

Well Pepe's chair has gone at last, Son collected it yesterday and delivered it to Eldest Granddaughters, that have moved to new bigger house and their need was greater than mine or Pepe's.

Where's my steps gone Dad?.

But look at the space it's opened up for us!

Took him a few treats thrown into his new bed to get him into it.

Not too bad really Dad.

On our visit to Pear Mill Café yesterday thought I would show you some of the items that are on sale there, plenty of young people shop there for these items, as fashion seems to go backwards and forwards all the time doesn't it!.

That's our favourite table there at the front.

Plenty of jewellery cabinets too.

And lots of types of crockery for collectors.

The plant stand I bought from there a few months ago is doing well in the hall, I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be light enough, but the guy at the garden centre said it would be alright and its sprouting new buds!

Finished another jigsaw when we got home, with a Narra Boat theme again.

We had lunch today at McDonalds today, surprisingly not been there for a while!

Though it was a bit drizzly, it was quite mild so when the rain stopped had a quick walk to the Ressers to feed the ducks and pigeons.

I hadn't taken my camera so snapped these pigeons all sat on an exposed tree root with my new Samsung Phone, not too bad really is it?.

Well that's you all up to date with the news.

Pepe's new bed. 13.111.21.

As I mentioned in my last post here is Pepe's new bed.

Started with a piece of MDF £8.40 From 3ways DIY Denton and cut two side pieces off that, hand full of screws Free from shop!

Had a small foot stool doing nothing so dismantled that, for the legs and the threaded nuts you can see on the corners here.

Some carpet runner I had in stock!.

Some half round beading bought at £2.25 from 3ways DIY in Denton.
Gorilla glue and Spray Adhesive in stock.

Got me to here.

Added the legs.

Then some sticky back plastic left over from a previous project!, Pepe's toy cupboard under the PC cabinet.

Painted the edging strip with some Acrylic paint in stock.

And there we have it, the finished bed in my bedroom for now.

Total cost £10.65!.

Hope Pepe likes it when I put it down for him, he doesn't know yet but his chair is going to a new home!, that's why I can't let him have it yet, can't fit it in!.

We went to Pear Mill Café today with friends and as it was Peter Gs birthday yesterday we told Helen the owner and they brought out this birthday cake and played Happy Birthday on the speakers and everyone clapped.
He was quite surprised.

That's Helen (the owner with her daughter) stood up at the back, very nice lady.
Peter didn't have too much trouble blowing out his candle, good job he didn't have a full size one, the fire brigade have enough on their hands at the moment.

Somewhere in the world a woman gives birth to a child every minute.
We  have to find this woman and stop her!!.

Todays visit to Pear Mill Café, 11.11.21.

Todays visit to the Café at Pear Mill was the usual chat with friends, Jean, David, Peter G and myself, not forgetting the two dogs Pepe and Saskia the black and white collie.

Think you know what Pepe is by now!.

This picture taken by David with his Ipad.

Peter G and myself in the hat, with my Poppy with old regiment attached, Royal Signals!.

Looking at the Table above shows you that we have different crockery  every  visit and floral decorations.

Jean got this unusual cup today with her second coffee.

Took Pepe for his wash and trim to Oldham this week, but due to the groomer forgetting to enter it in her appointments book, said we weren't due, but after showing her my appointment card with her own handwriting on acknowledged it was her fault. Still it gave us an excuse to go to the Café near there for a lovely bacon buttie, its a beautiful café inside and well worth a visit!.

Whilst in the area picked up Pepe's dried food and some of his sausages treats at the pet shop. The lady there had even saved me some coins!, and I only go every six weeks!.

This past Sunday I bought a new LED standard lamp from Lidl which is quite modern and has a dimmer switch on the top, so is good for behind me when I'm watching the telly.

My old one, the tulips on the right there cast a glare in my eyes which was a bit in annoying, still I suppose if that's all I have to worry about!. Being an LED light it is user friendly and doesn't get hot or use much electricity, so all good.

I've not been idle, been making a new bed for Pepe, will show you when its finished, don't tell Pepe though, he doesn't know yet his chair is going!.
