The Vale, 12th Sept 2017.

Feeling much better after a cold at the weekend, Pepe and I went out today for the first time this week!, it was only a quick trip to Reddish Vale again, and was I glad, as we saw the Little Grebe on the small lake catching a fish!.

This beautiful duck was sharing the lake,

Then this Maggie came to see if we had anything for him

This one a Muscovy Duck all white with his red face is for friend Jacqui down in  Cornwall!.

The swan family are doing well on the big lake.

The babies are nearly full grown now.

Mum with her Green leg tag.

Eat your Greens son, can't just eat seeds or you will never have nice white feathers like me and your dad.

Mum Grebe still helping out with the feeding

Baby Grebes getting bigger as well.

Great Crested Grebe adult.

 A nice tufted Duck.

This is the female, still got a little tuft on the back of her head.

Small Terror -Pins on the big lake in the middle, the size of side plates.

The ones on the other side of the lake are the size of dinner plates!.

Did you know that the foundry in Stockport called Needhams exported manhole covers all round the world as far afield as Australia!.
The chap that made this bench has used some of the original mounds and even made a new one to illustrate the system used in the day!

Here's one he made to show the visitors how it's done,
placed in front of the bench.

Another attraction put on by the Friends of the Vale coming shortly, so you could see all in this post and have a drink too!

Bye for now!
