Hi Folks
Went above and beyond the line of duty today to get you pictures of the baby Cygnet on Keg Pool today, not been up there for years!, had forgot how far and how high up it was.
When we got there the swans were at the top of the pool and was going to give up the idea of getting some pix's but after throwing some seed in, the daddy one brought the baby down to see us, right at the side of the pool.
That's my Boy!.
Only the one this year, but there again it's their first time
How can they call this an ugly duckling?, Perhaps in a couple of month's when it's getting it's proper feathers and they are brown and not white, they are a bit of an ugly duckling hey!.
The female must have got worried because she came and got out of the water and was a bit threatening, so rather than get a purple ❤️ moved off smartly.
This is the big daddy, who lost his mate last year and had been moping about since then,
but this year teamed up with this young female, so all's well in the love stakes.
It was a bit of a trek back up to the main path and a bit muddy but once on the main path it was downhill all the way back to the Cafe.
Strange the different types of trees and bushes lost in the woods!.
Saw the baby Canadian Geese on the way back, all doing well
The downed tree from last week is still there, perhaps it's on some work list somewhere, another downpour the same as the one that brought it down will float it on to the path and then it will be further up the list!.
Another Coot on the nest for a second brood
There were chicks under her but didn't wait as I was dying for a drink, perhaps next time!.
.............................................................................
What do chickens thing we taste like?.
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say,
'I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out'?.
Why did't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?.
