Day in Debdale Park, 15.9.2020.

Nice day at Debdale Park today, with this Indian Summer, lunch at McDonalds first of course!.
We are very lucky to have all this open space on our doorstep, that's the Pennine hills in the far distance!.

Nice and quiet in the park today with only a few mothers and baby's enjoying the fresh air.

This area used to be a mini golf course when we first moved to this area, but I suppose the cost of employing a person to oversee it was more than the money it generated, still as far as we are concerned it looks a lot better now and is more wildlife friendly.

This information is near to the tennis courts and tells one about the Dyeing industry that used to be in the area, like a lot of things in this area it's been allowed to go to seed though lack of investment.

Down on the reservoir there are quite a number of young Swans, and as they are all youngsters they are getting on quite well, not like Mr Nastsy on the upper mill pond at Reddish Vale.
I think the Reddish mill pond is only big enough for the one pair and the Male is making sure he is in charge.
Survival of the fittest is the rule in the wild!.

A young Male Tufted Duck, named because of the tuft of features behind its head.

A female whose head features are not so prominent.

This nice Robin paid us a visit today, perhaps it knew we had brought some seed.

This Squirrel we saw was digging frantically and could almost imagine it thinking " I know I buried it here, bet the Magpie's have been here".

Our usual visit to Pear Mill Cafe yesterday was good for a chat with friends and sample their goodies.
The male peregrine was still there and the young chap at the Cafe said it was being harassed by a Red Kite the day before. Not the usual area for Red Kites but perhaps it was just passing though!.
Will have to keep an eye open to see if it returns.

Had My Flu Jab yesterday as well, at the local chemist not at the doctors which was the usual shambolic affair again, will they never learn!.

Enjoy your Indian Summer but in groups of six or less!.
