Sunday 25th.6.2017.

This Sunday I went to Reddish Vale Park again though it was dull and drizzling, I thought the Kestrel's might have had their babies out on the veranda by now, but no lucky too wet perhaps only us Teal's out and about!.

Do plenty of people like and use the Vale, see this!

Some of the art work on the sides of the Information Centre

Though I didn't see the kestrel's, there was this nice Moorhen,

The Great Crested Grebe's nesting again, leaving the earlier brood to fend for themselves

Then out of nowhere spotted these Canadian Geese Goslings, 8 in total and quite grown up, I was surprised as I'd not seen any young chicks about over the past weeks.

There was this couple with one younger chick still with his yellow baby fluff.

Video of them on the move!

A forth coming attraction at the Vale, was there last year and was good!.

Monday at Etherow,

went to the Garden Centre Cafe as it's better for some of the old Breakfast club, whilst there the Couple we've met before with this Leonburger came in, As Pepe had met it before he wasn't too bothered!.

He's 10 and a half and weights 12 Stone!.

Think this little fellow followed me from the other Cafe as I fed him most mornings!, they're not daft are they.

Some very nice plants in the garden Centre at the moment, just had a new delivery!.

Friday ,23.6.2017.

A big change in the weather today, dull and drizzly, consequently no one I knew at the lake, in fact visitors few and far between.
Had a drink in the Garden  Centre cafe and after a chat with Maggi the owner it was off on a short walk round the lake!.
Here are a few pictures taken on an earlier visit to Reddish Vale this week.
Just not good enough, but getting there.

A moorhen with her baby

Large feet but not as webbed as the a coot.
Excuse me if you think I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs as they say, but like you maybe, I'm in a learning situation as well and just passing on the information.

Majestic.

Hiding.

Baby Mallards

Juvenile Coot just starting to get his/her White forehead marking.

A couple of Baby Coots from Etherow, Red heads in the early stages, but then as above

And the odd chaffinch!.

Synchronised Swimming!

Well, that's it for today, at least it was a bit cooler, we are never satisfied are we!, one day its too hot and the next it's too dull and showery, still that's what we Brit's do isn't it, complain about the weather, we are lucky that's all we have to worry about I suppose!.

Reddish Vale Country Park.17.6.2017.

If you've been following my posts you will have noticed I've been going to Reddish Vale Park this past week as the Cafe at Etherow is closed for a fortnight for refurbishment!!, who came up with that one, would have been better in the winter wouldn't it, when there weren't as many people using it still that's the councillors for you.
Once spoke to one of them and she said quite openly "I didn't know all this was here" (Etherow), talk about putting both feet in it!.
Still, back to Reddish, spotted this Kestrel under the railway arches the other day and today there he/she was shredding something up.

Then it was into the box to feed the chicks I would thing, must keep my eyes open for any coming out on to the front porch!

Something for everyone here, ie plane spotting as it's right on the flight path to Ringway.

Squirrels

Terror -pins.

Front and back views of Maggies.

Great Crested Grebes seem to be nesting again and babies left to fend for themselves.

Aways something going on with the help of the "Friends of the Vale"

Been lucky this year with three baby Cygnets.

Don'r need any more pictures they are all on the video!

Put plenty of Video's on the Model Boat Club site, but seem to have been a bit amiss here, watch this space!

Birds in the garden.14.6.17.

Been feeding the birds in the garden lately but only seem to be getting Woodie's and sparrows at the moment, still there are lots of cat's everywhere and though Pepe stops them coming down into the garden he's a bit hampered with his size!.

Been putting out those suet blocks which they seem to like and it doesn't get all over the place and not much falls into the garden so Pepe can get it.

Queuing up in nice orderly lines.

The sparrows seem to like the pellets better, or else can't get to the suet!.

The new camera seems to be doing like it say's on the box.

Another example of the great zoom on this camera are these pictures of a Kestrel, high up under the railway arches  at Reddish Vale Park.
That's his nest box behind him/her?.

Might have been a bit clearer with a tripod, that's if I could remember to take it with me, always forget, what a gorpp!.

Did get another attachment for the camera the other day, John ordered it for me, as you can see it attaches to your car window and has three different directional adjustments.
There is the obvious drawbacks of course, the position of the car but you can't have everything in this life can you, and if that's all you have to worry about you are quite lucky aren't you!.

This taken with it on the car park.
That's it for now, see you soon.
