Vets today AGAIN

After Pepe had his clips out of his leg on Saturday, I was looking at him doing his dying fly act in front of the fire on Sunday and happened to notice something glinting on his bare leg and on closer examination found a clip that had been missed, so it was back onto the vets who said "Bring him in and we will see if it is a clip"  what happened to Sorry its our fault !! doesn't seem to be in the English language any more does it. Of course it was a clip and I was told there was no charge fancy that !!

Did you hear of the guy who took his dog to the flea circus and the clever mutt stole the show.

I had to shoot my dog yesterday said Paddy
"Was he mad" said Maloney
"Well he wasn't too pleased about it"

Vets to-day again

Went to the vets again to-day to have Pepe's clips out and all went well without a whimper from him, a right little Rambo !!.
Rambo Style
Now all we have to do is keep him down as much as we can a young dog for the next 4 weeks until his next appointment with only short walks twice a day.

2.4 GHz Transmitters

For the newer members of the club or if you've just returned to boat modelling after a few years break, see the article I've put down on the right hand side about the 2.4 GHz transmitters now on the market, if you have heard members talking about them but don't know what they are all about this will give you some idea , though I'm not an expert on them we have been using them for a couple of years now, so can at least speak for their reliability

For the Non Squeamish

Pepe is doing very well and as you can see is healing up nicely though looking a bit of a rag bag at the moment
I can imagine him saying " I told you I wasn't getting fat Mum, it was all the hair"

Looking good and hopefully having the metal clips out on Saturday, then he won't look like a punk rocker anymore, then back to the landing stage to frighten all those ducks and geese.
Couldn't get a copy of the x-rays, he looked like Barry Sheen with all the clips and pins in his arms after he had crashed at 150mph , but there again he was back racing in 6 weeks !!

Pepe update

We picked up Pepe at about 5-00pm same day and then it was home to his new cage which we bought whilst at the Vets! we have him in the cage in his basket so he can't walk about too much. In a human it would be classed as complete bed rest for the next two weeks.

I took him to the Vets this morning for his check up and they said he was doing well and took off the plaster that was covering his wound, so now he is showing his bare skinny leg with what look like staples instead of stitches and thats how its got to stay until the staples come out in 14 days after he had them put in. Velda doesn't like that idea but its got to be done hasn't it

Some AHHHHH factor pictures with the plaster still on for the squeamish.

Off to the Vets

Pepe and I are off to the vets to-day ,he is having the operation on his rear offside leg done that was scheduled for the Saturday before Christmas, which unfortunately didn't go ahead as the Vet had a family crisis and had to call it off.
Like going to the dentist it seems al-right at the moment so you don't want to bother but it will flare up again if you don't I'm sure
So it will be a stressful day to-day until he is home again
Tough Guy
In the snow earlier in the year.

Dog joke for you
Two drunks were about to board the train when they saw a sign "Dogs must be carried"
"Hold it" said one "where are we gonna get a dog at this time of night".

First Club Night of the New year

Don't forget you guys (and gals) its the first club night of the new year to-morrow
12th January 8-00pm
Velda the secretary will be there with your renewal forms, why pay postage sending your form back when you can pay on the night so bring your wallets and crack them open.

NO NO that's not a butterfly its a Moth !!  but don't worry we will bring plenty of bug spray to keep them down.

Come along and check out the ideas and outings the committee have lined up for you in the coming year, but remember a club is only as good as its members.

RJR back in the mood

Glad to see RJR back in the mood for modelling , check out his Blog down on the right of my Blog, a video with his sound and video effects on his railway layout, might give you some idea's for your boats.
We had a visit to the lake yesterday just to see if it had thawed and it has !!, we had a bit of lunch in the cafe and we could sit in the warm and not outside with the smokers, Wonderful
I started to fit the bottom section of the interior of the Narra Boat yesterday but its still too cold to do much yet so didn't bother with a boring picture of a plain piece of planed wood.

Update

Sorry not been in touch with you as much lately, been sorting out the club stuff on the computer, ie events calendar and directory listing which I can't complete until we have all the renewal forms out and back.

Not done any modelling either as we have been watching the world darts on TV and Trina Gulliver last night won for the 9th time out of 11 years its been running, that must really get the others down hey.

Not that we've played for years, and when we did it was on a smaller board with only doubles and now I don't think we could even see them from the oche, that tells you how old we are doesn't it, and the latest boards don't have to be soaked over night which you had to do with the old log end boards which was a bit messy

Velda is still not smoking and its been 4 weeks now, what great determination and cold turkey too, no patches and imitation ciggies for her. I'm sure everyone will join me in wishing her well and to carry on the good work.

Happy New year

Happy New Year
To all our readers and may you enjoy the coming year at the lake as much as we enjoyed the last year, but a little better weather would help wouldn't it.

For any non sailors out there check out my For Sale section on the Etherow Blog
as one of our members is selling his older lathe as he bought a new one earlier on last year and wants the space.
