Just like spring.Feb 2017.

Just like spring, but I'm not fooled!, I always think February and March are the worse months!.
Still it was a beautiful day out today, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and the company at the lake was good.
Plenty of people out feeding the ducks & geese and as you can see loads of gulls

This is a snassy outfit isnt it, think it was just to keep its pom poms clean with all the mud about from the rain last night

A nice pair of tufted ducks enjoying the sun shine, the one with the white on its side is the male.

What also made it a nice day out in the sun, was the fact I've changed my car, Oh No not again I hear you saying, but the gold one was too big for my needs really, not the driving it, but the size for my needs, didn't need a 7 seater but it was an impulse buy and taken a bit more into consideration this time!.

Its a Vauxhall Meriva SE Turbo, no that's not a doggy number plate, can do without someone at the other end of the country cloning mine and me getting someone else's fines!.

Reading the reviews on the internet about the Electronic handbrake on these type of vehicles I was a bit concerned and asked the garage owner about it, and also the turbo!.
"Get in" he said and took me round the block, frightened the life out of me, but you always feel like that when your a driver and someone else is driving don't you?.
Bottom line is went out this morning and after his instructions had no trouble at all.
Another plus is, Pepe seems to like it as well.

Lovely car and lovely day out.
Must have a trip out to the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre next week for a nice long run , plus one of their Mares are due to give birth on the 11th of this month!.

I don't think you will be disappointed.

Out and about July 2015.

Not done much blogging this month, writer's block I think!.
Still been out and about quite a bit though!, we had a day in St Annes On Sea and the weather was kind to us, then a day in Buxton, and this last Thursday had a trip to Frodsham!.
Always go to Frodsham on a Thursday if you are going to Steve Webb's the Model shop as it's Market day there and the lady's don't feel left out. Marjorie got a nice pair of Pants and two tops so was pleased about that and wants to go again, so as I said always go on a Thursday!.

We had a nice meal in the Bears Paw Inn, there is parking round the back £1 for 3 Hrs and you get a refund in the pub with your order, can't be bad as it's bad parking normally on Market day.

For dog owners, this is outside the pub opposite, The Queens Head.

How about this a vac to make any woman drool, my wife would have loved one of these!.

Yesterday Friday we went to the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre again to see how the young Colts born this year were getting on and was just in time to see one getting his first set of shoes fitted!,

Owner (in the red pants) keeping an eye on things.

There are some nice flower arrangements round the farm as well if you are into gardening!.

There are also other nice animals to see ie these nice little Piglets!.

She likes pigs, hope that's not why she goes out with me?.

So with their special offer of a free pass for the next month with your ticket I guess we will be going again in the near future!.
Nice place and nice owners!, nice meals in the Cafe too!.

Meanwhile back at the lake a few AAAH pictures.

Mother and baby Mandarins

The bodyguard

Only one of four left, nature is cruel at times!, perhaps the bodyguard isn't as good as he thinks he is!.

Cotebrook Shire Foals born in May 2015.

Today we went to the Cotebrook Shire Horse centre again as I had seen that the next foal to be born this month had arrived at 5-30 am, on the 28th of this month, only one day overdue.
Beth's new foal is a beautiful grey colt foal, which might be Black when he get's a little older.
Will leave you to make your own mind up on how cute they both are.

Admirers all, for this other Lady-in-waiting.

Down and dirty with the horses.

More babies

My Birds!.

With "Edward the Great" the daddy of the two foals.

Another testosterone fueled animal.

That's it for today!.

Cotebrook Shire Horse centre.May. 2015.

Cotebrook Shire Horse centre.May. 2015.

At the beginning of the month we had been  to the Cotebrook Shire Horse centre, and from their Facebook page found that a couple of their mares were in foal, one on the 16th of this month.
So it was off again on Thursday thinking we would see the newest foal, but the Owner had been up for the last two nights thinking any time now!, we then saw on Facebook that the Colt foal had arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning, so it was back again on the Saturday morning.
You might think this is costing a fair bit of money, But!, if you pay to go it you also get a certificate to go free for the next month!, can't get better than that can you, we have been three times u to now and the next foal is due on the 27th, so we will get to see that too.
Here is the sequence of events for the latest foals arrival!.
On our first visit, Carron, lady in waiting.

Eight hours old!

Tiring this standing up

Legs still a bit wobby

What are they all staring at Mum?.

Tired Alistair, three sleepless nights.

There was an ITV film crew there to film the occasion for a program that will be going out next Summer of big animals giving birth!

Gavin Barkley the cameraman, been filming all over the world!

Simon Paintin the director, they were waiting in the sunshine for three days, tough job but someones got to do it hey!.

There is another birth due on the 27th of this month,
Beth, I'm bet Alistair is hoping it won't be another three nighter!.
Both these mares were sired by Edward the best in the world stallion!,

Some of the other foals at the centre, some owned by them and others on a visit to be mated
In the barn.

Proud Mum

Out in the paddocks

Beth the next birth.

As well as the shires there are other attractions for the whole of the family, such as these little piglets.

And Rare breed chicks.

Hard work this child minding!

Scottish Wild Cat.

Whilst we were there we saw Edward the Stallion doing his stuff, I won't put the pictures on here as it may offend some people!.
The are only Eight Premium special Stallions in the world and Edward and three of his sons live here! so quite an achievement for the owners.

Nice food in the Cafe!, or you are quite welcome to bring your own food and eat it in the picnic area, not many places want you to do that do they!.

A very good day out and as if that's not enough with the month's free entrance there is another special for OAP's .

Check out their Facebook page for updates!.

Where else can you get value for money like this!.

Unfortunately you can't take dogs, you can't blame them for that though, got a good example of people letting their  dogs off the lead today at the Lake where a Jack Russell off the lead disappeared down a badger sett and just stood there laughing, the warden wasn't too pleased when we told him and he said they were lucky to get the dog back if the were babies in the sett!.
Can you imagine them chasing the young foals and other animals.

Thats all for now!.
