Nice sunny week, 21-25.3.22

This week has been a very nice week after all the rain we had last month.

We had quite a crowd of us at Pear Mill café this Thursday, our usual three plus Jaquie, Jean's daughter up from the south coast for her Mum's birthday next week.

We had David and his wife and Miss Daisy the cockerpoo too.

Of course every one had to have a hold of Miss Daisy and Jaquie was no exception!, I didn't has I didn't want to upset Pepe

David is the family dog walker with Miss Daisy and two Pugs from another daughter!.
I've just finished this jigsaw of a Pug which was quite hard as you can see at least a third of it is a greyish white!.

Saw one of the Peregrines on the way out of the Mill.

Today at Debdale Park.

First our favourite lunch, Chicken Select Meal with Sweet chilli sauce and an Apple pie and of course a coffee, just love McDonalds coffee!.

Then into the park, I hadn't felt like going today, but as soon as we got there I was glad we had made the effort as it was really great in the sun.

Beautiful sunny day and we sat here from about an hour getting some rays.

Sculpture in the orchard.

This thrush was sat in a tree singing its heart out.

In the Nature Centre we were sat at a new bench near the feeders as there were lots of people near the café and tables,  not that I'm anti-social, but the Covid is still around and seems to be getting worse again.

I didn't think we would get any birds being so close to the feeders but this beautiful female Ring Necked Parakeet came down and started to eat though we were only about 10 feet from her.

Is that Pepe sat there with you Duckie?.

These fat balls are tasty.

They are just bliss!.

Don't forget you can see all the action on the bird table from the comfort of your armchair streaming very day.
What will you see?.

Not sure what this one is!.
Was told later that its a Wren, looks too big for that but that's the trouble being on full zoom.

A couple of parrots were sat on a perch, one say's to the other "Can you smell fish".

What do you call a woodpecker with no beak,

A Headbanger!.

Past week of 14-20.3.22.

Well at last the rain has stopped and the past week its been quite sunny, the cold wind has also dropped to a bit.

This is Vicky at Debdale Park with the red hair giving the volunteers their tasks for the day.

One of the volunteers with his dog patiently waiting for him.

Here is Pepe waiting patiently too, dogs  are very good aren't they, they don't seem to mind as long as they are with you and in sight!.

Captured these Coots mating, then he left, to leave her to make their nest, though he did start to bring her the building materials.

Wasn't too sure what this was but was assured it was a Dunnock, it looked too light coloured to be a Dunnock, perhaps one of last years brood, or I've only seen them from above before.

Cute little Long Tailed Tits.

Blue Tit and Great Tit Sharing the feeder.

A Coal Tit, with the stripe up the back of its neck.

Think this robin is fancying the Squirrel Café for a nest site.

This week at the pear Mill Café!.
Nice table decoration as usual.

Imagine these claws of this Peregrine Falcon hitting you at 200 miles an hour, yes they are the fastest thing in the world!.
We are lucky to have these beautiful birds in our area.

Meanwhile back at Debdale park there was a pair of Ring Necked Parakeets on the feeders.
The one with the more pronounced ring round its neck is the male!.

Yesterday it was really warm and the paths round the resser had dried out quite well, so we walked round to the area we had seen the Great Crested Grebes the day before and being under the trees got quite close to one pair, this other pair was too far away.

This pair quite near to us.

The youngsters were out in force on the water, brought back happy memories of my time there windsurfing and canoeing.

I'd mislaid my magnetic book mark, must have left it in a book taken to the charity shop, so on Saturday night, had a fall of soot and thought "Amazon!".

Ordered these doggie ones, 30 assorted, for £7.49 on Saturday after tea and they arrived Sunday afternoon!.
Only small, but how big do you need a book mark?, cute pictures on them.
The delivery guy had a job finding them amongst all the big boxes, I said "It will only be a very small package Mate", and he found them on his dashboard where he'd put them for safe keeping!.

So all in all a good week for us.
