Pepe's Birthday, 27th 4.21.

Today was  Pepe's 12th birthday!, hard to believe its been 12 years since he entered our lives, sadly his Mum was only there in his first two years but in those two years he was her best boy!.

That's him lay down at the front, A Red Sable, longhaired Chihuahua, with a big belly.

The other three went to Rome, Finland and Germany, he drew the short straw and got Gorton!.

This was his first visit to Etherow country park where we were members of the model boat club and he used to sit on the bench amongst the boat and never touched a one!

This was his first picture taken by my mate Bob, He's gone a bit grey round the muzzle now like his Dad"!

His Mum bought him a tee shirt but he never measured up to join the force.

Two weeks ago at the groomers.

Today we went to KFC for a birthday treat, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Then it was down to Debdale Park for a walk, only went to the reservoirs as it looked like rain but we were luck that it held off whilst we were there.

We were also lucky to see a pair of Canadian Geese with 5 baby chicks, so that was a bonus!.

Back at home, tried a few pictures with the camera on different setting which I've never done before.

Duelling pigeons.

This one comes every day.

Was quite pleased with these so will have to have another go at it.

Hoping for some babies again this year from the Goldfinches.
Shouldn't be too long now.

So all in all a good day was had by us both, with Pepe finishing off with dinner of Roast topside of beef, so perhaps he didn't do too back getting Gorton, if it had been Rome it could have been Pizza everyday!

You know your getting old when;

The names in you little black book are mostly doctors.

Sunday in Debdale Park, 25.4.21.

Had a nice day in Debdale Park today, didn't think I'd get a parking place today as always busy at weekends but wasn't too bad today, perhaps everyone had rushed off to the beaches!.

Everything seems to be bursting out in this sunshine and warmth.

Covid 19,Marshalls patrolling the park everyday.

Plenty of nesting going on in the park and round the reservoirs, this coot waiting for her mate to bring her something to eat.

Canada Geese, afternoon nap but still has one eye on us.

Great Crested Grebe on his own today.

Plenty of activity in the Nature Garden.
Female Chaffinch.

Blue Tit.

Great Tit.

A Maggie on the peanuts.

Pepe guarding my Rucksack seat whilst I fill the feeders.

Male Blackbird rooting in the undergrowth.

A cute Squirrel Nutkin.

The jigsaw I bought on Amazon a while back, says Impossible Puzzle but not quite as you can see I've done it, though I must admit it was quite hard and took me longer than usual!

Only recognise the characters that have been in the latest  films though.

Wednesday at Ashton Moss Nature Reserve. 21.4.21.

First we went to the Snipe  retail park, not for any shopping but to the O'Neals buttie wagon for a bacon buttie and a nice coffee, all for £3.20 can't get it that cheap anywhere I know, so good I had to go back for another coffee!.

Then we went a little further up the road to the Ashton Moss Nature Reserve, it's not a big place but an hour there was a nice quiet visit and was rewarded with a first for me with some pictures of a small flock of Reed Buntings, not that I knew what they were at first, only that they were new to me, it was only when I got home and checked my reference books that I realised what I'd got.

At first I thought they were sparrows but sparrows don't have Black heads but brown or grey.

Reed Bunting, blackhead and bib with white moustache.

About the same size as Sparrows.

Then when I started to fill some of the feeders saw a few Jackdaws that I'd only seen once before in Uppermill.

As you can see clearly members of the Crow family.

A Muscovy Duck with his mate.

A pair of Great Tit and a Sparrow.

So it was well worth the visit, then it was off back to Debdale Park,

All the trees and bushes are in bloom at the moment, the the children's play area strangely quiet with all the kids back at school!

Cut my head off, but was only looking at the buds!

Social Distancing!.

Meanwhile back home my Plants with berries for the birds in winter are sprouting like crazy.

The starlings enjoying the fat balls.

Was my Mates birthday today so paid him and his good lady a visit, won't tell you his age but this is a good guess for you!

It's the way I tell em!
