First we went to the Snipe retail park, not for any shopping but to the O'Neals buttie wagon for a bacon buttie and a nice coffee, all for £3.20 can't get it that cheap anywhere I know, so good I had to go back for another coffee!.
Then we went a little further up the road to the Ashton Moss Nature Reserve, it's not a big place but an hour there was a nice quiet visit and was rewarded with a first for me with some pictures of a small flock of Reed Buntings, not that I knew what they were at first, only that they were new to me, it was only when I got home and checked my reference books that I realised what I'd got.
At first I thought they were sparrows but sparrows don't have Black heads but brown or grey.
About the same size as Sparrows.
Then when I started to fill some of the feeders saw a few Jackdaws that I'd only seen once before in Uppermill.
A Muscovy Duck with his mate.
A pair of Great Tit and a Sparrow.
So it was well worth the visit, then it was off back to Debdale Park,
All the trees and bushes are in bloom at the moment, the the children's play area strangely quiet with all the kids back at school!
It's the way I tell em!
