Garden Cafe Dog Walkers Club!.

Today at the Etherow Garden Centre Cafe, Owner Maggie in collaboration with friend Jean had put on a lovely birthday spread for Jean's daughter Jacqui, who had come back home to Jean's for her birthday this week!.
Earlier in the week we had been to the Hare and  Hounds at Werneth Low for a meal and then on to Reddish Vale to see the local wildlife where we met friends Mary and Peter and Sasha the Collie.

Enjoying a coffee at the Info Centre

You can see why its called the dog walkers club hey!, they are all friends as well.

Jacqui, Peter and Button with the Stockport viaduct in the background.

And a rest at the lake side.

Today's spread at the Garden Centre Cafe, all the decorations provided and made by Maggie.

Thanks Maggi.

Lots of choice.

We even had a bit of music with my Bose Mini Link on the table on the left there.

Button wants to join in!

Another pressie!.

Mary and Peter.

Tucking in .

A beautiful birthday cake, pity we didn't get a picture before it was attacked!.

Big Al and Colin from the Model Boat club, regular customers now at the buttie wagon on their sailing days.

Here is the splendid Buttie wagon in the Garden centre car park.

The Menu!.

Even George from the boat club arrived with his poorly legs!.

I wasn't going to say the ladies age, well you don't ask do you,!, but its hard not to notice isn't it with all the decorations, bunting and balloons Maggie had put up!.

Certainly doesn't look it does she!!.

So its another day out for Mum and daughter tomorrow before she goes home south hopefully to a better climate than the Rainy City, Manchester, but being a true Mancunian I'm bias anyway!.

So if you'r stuck for somewhere to have your next birthday celebration try the Etherow Garden Centre Cafe, I'm sure Maggie will sort you out, or just call in for a cuppa and a snack from the menu above.

You never know you might find a plant in the unusual selection on display, I know I have in the past!.

A friend in need is a pain in the Bum!!

I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists somewhere else in the universe is that none of it has bothered to contact us!.

I went live on the internet myself the other day- I was plugging in my modem and got my fingers stuck in the plug!.

Sunday At Reddish Vale, 23.7.2017.

This week at Reddish Vale there was plenty of wildlife about!, there was this nice Moorhen and when her male brought her a twig and she stretched out for it, uncovered two of her babies, didn't see any others.

There were plenty of baby Coots about too.

The two cygnets last week looked like this,

This week they looked like this, quite a bit bigger and hopefully safer from predators!.

Plenty of squirrels.

Some of the terror-pins seem to be growing too, this one is the size of a dinner plate.

The other one isn't much smaller.

The local Herons still there.

The Maggi's

That's my boy!.

The two young Great Crested Grebes have disappeared, perhaps chased off by the parents as they have produced their second brood and very nice too!.
One sat on Mum's back here,

And there it is, with two in the water.

Got a good view here Mum!, sit still or you'll fall off again.

Unusual colours for the babies aren't they, but it must be natures way of camouflaging them.

That's the last, but there again you can't have too much of a good thing can you?.

Met a chap today at the Vale who told me he was in Reddish Vale Nature photographers, and here is the link

Some cracking pictures on there!.

????.
Why is Lemon juice mostly artificial ingredients, but dish washing liquid has real lemons?.

How come a Pizza can get to your house quicker than an ambulance?.

How much deeper would the ocean be if there weren't any sponges in it?.

That's all for now folk's.

Busy weekend, 15-16.July 2017.

Saturday it was off down to Solihull for the Wedding of my grandson Jacob to Beth Arnold!.
The wedding service was in the Solihull chapel and the reception was in a big white Gazebo in the grounds.

Nice wedding cake, not seen one like this before, very nice with extra fruit with each slice!.

Then it was off to the park across the way, picked up my camera from the car and took a few pictures!.

Think the bride likes purple!

The happy couple!

The Teal parents.

The brides parents.

The Tiller  Teal Girls,

The Teal Grandparents, notice the Greater Tufted Hatless Teal on the left.

The brides family.

My beautiful grandchildren, two down one to go!

The lovely bride!.

As usual the photos seemed to go on forever but the lady photographer did a good job lining up the different groups for me to snap!.

Then it was back to the reception and the meal.

There was even one of those old fashioned ice cream bikes and it seems though Beth is setting things right from the start and getting Jacob doing the servicing up.

My youngest Granddaughter with her young man Jared, he is going to be a missionary in August in the London mission area, really nice young man and I'm sure he is going to do a great job.

Not many of me in the pictures, but I got this one that someone sent me whilst I was chatting to Jean one of the other Grand parents, would rather be on the other side of the camera really!.

H

Had a safe journey home and picked up Pepe who had stayed overnight at friends Bob & Joyce who said he had been no trouble at all!.

Nice to go out and about but nice to be home in your own bed isn't it!

Sunday

It was off to the Reddish Vale Fun Day and as the weather was good they had a great turn out!.

All the old country and western hits, brought back pleasant memories of our years line dancing!.

Plenty of places for drinks.

Mind the baby Punch.

Handy seating area.

The men in sheds that meet at the park regularly were selling some of their bikes they had reclaimed at very reasonable prices.

The cadets there as well, very smart.

The kids were having a great time on the climbing tower.

Looking over to the field from the information centre.

Last but not least the ladies singing all the old favourites! very popular.

So all in all a great weekend and was quite content to go to the lake today and just sit there and chat over drinks and dinner at the Garden Centre Cafe, with friends.
Must be getting old!.

Ever wondered about those people that pay a fortune for those little bottles of water?.
Try spelling Evian backwards!.

I went to the shops yesterday and treated myself to a toilet brush.
Its no good though, I'm having to going back to paper!

What's the best way to kill a variety act
Go for the Juggler!
