Monday 5 September 2022

Weekend of 2,3,4th of September.

On Friday we took some sandwiches to Reddish Vale Country park again.

We replenished the feeders in the community Garden, nice and quiet in there.

The Squirrels liked our monkey nuts

This greedy one managed two at once.
All Mine!!!!

Plenty of these beautiful little Long Tailed Tits about, tend to nest in Groups.

Pepe on his favourite bench, friend Marys!.

High in one of the trees looks like this is a home made box.

Whilst I recognized this as one of the bat boxes from the info centre, of course you need to be careful where you put them as once they are in there, they are protected and you can't move them.

Great Tit.

Robin.

Plenty of Bug Hotels about.

Round the Mill ponds saw four Cormorants on the Top Pond.

Very low down when in the water.

This one seemed to like playing with a feather.

Looked under the arches to see if the Kestrel's were about but it looks like the pigeons have taken over their box again this year.

On Sunny side pool there was this Heron.

As well as this Terrapin sat on a log.

On the lower Mill pond there were four Terrapins!.

And another Heron.

The three Reddish Vale signets nearly full grown now.

Round the river there has been quite a bit of shoring up of the banking with big boulders.

The other side of the river there is now a sunny area for the kids to paddle in the shallow river there.

In the car park area, new signage and a new frog!!

Was looking for a Gold crest in the tree near the info centre I'd seen before but only saw this thrush.

Whilst back home today the goldfinches are doing well and so are all their babies, eating well on their own now.

The berries on my bushes starting to attract the birds now.

Yesterday Sunday, we went on the lower resser at Debdale to stay away from the crowds in the park.
The swan family is doing well.

Junior decided to go off after people feeding the birds,

Its been tagged now as you can see.

I'd better go and see what Junior is up to.

So all in all a good weekend.
