Cold day down the Vale,15.11.2019.

A fierce wind chill factor today down the Vale.
Got a text from friends to see if I wanted to go to Daisy Nook GC for lunch and replied "I thought you had an appointment today", not today Saturday was the reply and I realised it was Friday and not Saturday as I had thought, What a Plonker!.
Still as I was already at the Vale thought I'd go and fill the feeders in the Community Garden and I was glad because they were nearly empty.
So it was a feeding frenzy for the Great Tits,

This Blue Tit tucking in as well.

This Magpie on the table that used to be a three cylinder feeding station until the Squirrels destroyed it, still it seems to be better now as a table.

The Jays showed up again today.

Love these suet pellets with berries Peter!.

Always seem to have a muddy beak from burying they treasures for winter but have to make sure the squirrels don't seem them or they will be robbed.

Is that Pepe the chihuahua over there with his coat on?.

The Nuthatches like the suet pellets too.

Finally getting my broken camera back tomorrow, so watch this space for more wildlife pictures!.

Didn't use Algebra once today did you?.

How do Eskimos stop their mouths from freezing up?, they grit their teeth!.

Dull damp day down at Reddish Vale country park today,12.11.2019.

Was dull and damp today but at least it wasn't raining, though when we got down in the vale it was water, water everywhere.
We were both well wrapped up as you can see with Pepe here, sat on friend Mary's bench, wonder if Pepe knows that, you can never tell with dogs can you they are very intelligent and can sense all sorts of things.

Jay enjoying John's table, know John will love that.

Do they know or is it just my over active imagination?.

Nice view from up here.

This one is on the top of the container which was the Men in sheds but now the Volunteer's shed.

Can't get enough of these beautiful birds.

Liking the fat balls we take.

Not many leaves left on the trees now, will make it easier to see the birds, ie the Green Parakeets!.

How do these little Chaffinches manage through the winter, think about that next time you go out and take some food for them!.

Turned out a nice day out, but you definitely needed to be wrapped up!.

My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.

I keep the kitchen clean,
I always eat out!.

One nice thing about egotists, they never talk about other people.

Days out the past week,7.11.2019.

The weather in the past week hasn't been too clever but it hasn't stopped Pepe and I getting out and about, except today which was pouring down and cold with it so for the first time this month it was straight to our favourite watering hole The Pear Mill Cafe.
I think I've mentioned it before but all the furniture and crockery are retro as you can see.
The staff are all very nice and its dry and warm and they love our dogs, in fact all dogs!

The Daisy Nook Calendar which has been compiled over the year has been published and is now on sale.

As it says on the front all the profits go to the Children's Burns Foundation, a worthy cause.
Here are all the winning entrants for this year.

The wall in the Cafe though the year of the monthly competition

I was lucky this year that one of my pictures was chosen, its the one of the Mother Jay feeding her baby and is the month of October

I had a picture chosen as the Banner for the Reddish Vale Nature Photographers web early in the year

Was quite pleased when again this week I had a picture chosen for another web page I support, here is the copy of my picture.

So it's been quite an exciting few months with my camera, this picture was taken in better weather by what I'm wearing, it's certainly more on now, might have to buy some long johns if the weather get's worse.

Been lucky earlier in the week with these pictures.
Ring necked parakeets.

Thought this one was quite nice with the Autumn leaves making a nice frame for this cute little Blue Tit, so delicate makes you wonder how they can survive the weather over the winter.

This Jay certainly appreciated the peanuts I provided this week.

This Blue Tit likes the nuts too.

Not sure if this Crow is a male or female, so could be Russell or Cheryl hey?.

When I bought a shoulder strap for my Cameras there was a Safety strap included so only the one, solution make another one for my other camera.
Had the cord, ring and shrink wrap in stock so a few minutes of modelling experience and there you have a colourful strap at no cost.

So hopefully a bit drier tomorrow to get snapping again ready for next years Calendar, 2021 I mean.
Certainly like my new hobby it gets you out meeting people, not like boat modelling on your own in the work shop.
The work shop bench now comes in handy for my other hobby Jigsaw puzzles, the one I'm doing at the moment is very hard, though it makes you more patient, but I must say I'll be happy when this one is finished.

Three things happen when you get to my age,
First your memory starts to go,
I've forgotten the other two!.

What do you call a woodpecker with no beak.
A head banger!.

A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion.
