21st April 2018.

Saturday, looking more normal again now if you can call me normal.
My blistering and scabbing has mainly gone and its just now managing the after pains that are associated with the aftermath of Shingles.
Anyway back to pleasanter things, Pepe and I went to Daisy Nook and had lunch there and got some coins from the staff there who kindly save them for us, though same as everyone else haven't seen any of the new 10p coins yet that the Royal Mint say are in circulation, not met anyone yet who has seen any!.

Back to the wildlife!.

Plenty of these seeds about near the Blackbirds, friend Bob says they are Elderberry seeds and I bow to his better knowledge, the birds seem to like them anyway.
Trying out the Macro setting on my camera with these, they are only as big as the nail on my little finger.

Not everyone's choice but live and let live hey.

Everyone's favourite aren't they.

Sprucing up for a date!.

Handsome fellow.

Then there was this Heron on the back canal behind Sammy's Pool.

Not easy to see with this background.

That's a bit better background.

Someone else blending in.

Can't blend in with a bill like this can you.

Seeing I had my older camera, Fijifilm SL1000 with me was showing off with its special effects to friend Jean with her new car, as you can see everything Black and White except her car and the Nissan next to it!.

With the Red filter on, just the Red car and red tail lights and little boys helmet!.

Yellow filter!.

Enough playing about with filters, Charged up and ready for our next outing, always weather permitting!.

Darth Vader, to Luke Skywalker,

This weekend, 14th -15th April, 2018.

Saturday we were at Daisy Nook Country park.
There was plenty of wildlife about such as these cute Chaffinches.

These Chinese Swan geese seem to be saying, 'Does this mean us'.

Big Daddy!.

And his mate.

Looks like someone should have joined the Etherow Model Boat Club where they have a rescue boat, this model boat looks like its been there a while on the other side of the canal.

Looks like Spring is here.

Dunnock

Plenty of Nuthatches about

My mate must think he's building a high rise block!

And he's still at it, collecting material!.

Sunday we didn't go far as I was going to Son John's for dinner later, so it was just over the road to Debdale Park and the reservoirs.
Brought back some happy memories of years ago when I did my Windsurfing and canoeing courses here.

Nice walk round here but wasn't up to it on the day, still suffering from my Shingles attack.

Getting spruced up for the mating season, see the boss has his leg ID on but his new young mate not been tagged yet.

Young one not got her beak colour even!.

There are plenty of youngsters on the reservoirs, plenty of space so the mating pair not under threat.

Back in the park, can just see the main road though the trees.

Noticed a new memorial plaque in the park, not my favourite MP but nice to see he's been remembered in this way.

So it was then home and on to John's for dinner!.

Doctor Doctor, I feel like a pair of curtains, For goodness sake pull yourself together.

My father told me about the Birds and the bees,
I went steady with a woodpecker until I was twenty one!.

Families are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts!.

This week, 8th-present.2018.

Not much going on this week as I've had a dose of the Shingles, so if you haven't seen the Hat and Dog, out and about these past few days that's why.
Had a trip to the doctors and then had to convince her what I had because I didn't have any blisters yet!, I convinced her that they hadn't come out yet!, so I got a course of strong tablets and next day I sprouted blisters all over my scalp and right side of my face, looked like the Elephant man!.
Getting better now and due back to the doctors tomorrow, she will be pleased that my face is blistered perhaps.
Well back to more pleasant things, one day had a trip down to Reddish Vale thinking I would walk round on my own and take some pictures and it was full to bursting with children with a long queue at the refurbished Small Animal Farm and the car parking was Manic.
Took a few pictures and came home not quite licking my wounds, Uggh!.

The swans have taken position on their nest after seeing off their last years youngsters!.

Love is in the air

Whilst some are still on the lookout

Beautiful colours aren't they

This Moorhen was doing some kind of ritual scooting along with its bum in the air unless it was thinking  'Is my bum looking big in this courting suit'

Another one in a more normal posture!.

Well should be Abell to get out tomorrow without frightening everyone with my Freddie Kugger impressions, glad about that as I'm going Stir Crazy!.
Good job I've had plenty of books in stock to read, this weeks were PJ Tracy's 'Snow Blind' and Lee Child's, 'The Midnight Line', two of my favourite authors!.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but an onion does the job for a week.

Doctor to patient
'I have to tell you that you have Acute angina'
Patient,'Why thank you doctor'.

A man is given a pigs ear in a transplant operation, a month later he goes to the hospital for a check up,
'Any problems?' said the doctor,
'No' said the patient 'Though I do get a bit of crackling'.

Visitor to hospital patient.
'I hear they're bringing in a case of Diarrhoea
Patient 'Well anythings better than the coffee they keep giving us'.

Doctor, Doctor, I think I'm a moth,
'Well get out of my light!'.
