Nice Day October At Reddish Vale, 27.10.17.

Nice sunny day at the Vale today, misty to start with but by the time I'd met friend David and we'd had lunch at the tearooms the sun had burnt off the mist and we had a nice walk round the lakes.

Here is one of the heron's doing a bit of flashing,

Nuthatch getting stuck in to the free seed.

Form an orderly queue.

Chaffinch.

Tufted Duck, Male.

In the undergrowth.

Its mate being a bit more acrobatic!.

Cute Hey!.

A walk down to the river.

Just before we left I saw this Nuthatch checking out this nest box behind the info centre!.

So a nice day out, you have to grab them whilst you can before the days close in which is this next weekend isn't it!!.

Swan family, 26.10 17.

This week at the lake (Etherow) was surprised to see the Swan family down from the Keg Pool, the last time I was up there the Baby could have fitted on your hand, look at him/her now.

Not a fluffy little chick now!.

Mum and Dad with the ever faithful Queen Tut

Queen Tut still armored to the Big Daddy, always getting between him and the female!.

Afternoon Nap, but Queenie still got an eye out for any intruders.

Bath time

Are you sure he's not mine??, handsome enough!.

Queenie what a colourful bird!.

Another family unit that's been at Etherow for years, with their bodyguard!.

Only one Cormorant today, I think all the rest are at Reddish Vale!.

Plenty of Gulls about on the perches provided by the yacht club.

Quite an old picture of Queenie butting in on the Swans, doesn't seem to realize that Twos company, Threes a crowd. This was when Mate Bob and I thought it as a King Tut!
This Female Swan died and the King Tut after investigation turned out to be a Queen Tut, as you can see in the pictures above still faithful to the male swan, even if its not getting her anywhere.

A lot of the same family pictures today but they are rather nice creatures aren't they!.

Age is a very high price to pay for maturity.

Maybe its true that life begins at forty.
But everything else starts to wear out, fall out or spread out.

This week in Stockport, 22.10.17.

There are some beautiful colours about in the country side at the moment aren't there.
These pictures were taken at Etherow Country Park.

Tibetan Cherry, remember when this was only a young sapling that you could circle with your fingers!.

Very colourful bark.

As it was raining at Reddish Vale Country Park this morning, after a quick walk round with Pepe it was back to the car and out with my car window attachment for my camera, this was a real bargain, £14.11 on the internet, how do they do it for that price, really good quality!.

So sat in the car at the side of the information centre, centred on the feeding station behind it, took these pictures.
Robin & Sparrow.

Chaffinches.

Nuthatch.

Then off to the Cafe for lunch, takeaway as it was too wet to sit out with Pepe, and back to the information centre for a cheaper drink.
Then whilst in the Information Centre took these pictures through the window on the feeding station!, not bad though the glass really, saved getting too wet!

Some one else hungry.

Bottoms up!
Another huge Terror Pin, this doesn't do justice to the size of it!.

Another bit of technology this week, I connected my Iphone to my Camera then put the camera on the settee and sat on the other side of the room with the phone and took this picture, I know its not straight but I'd just placed the camera on the seat.
Should be good outdoors where some of the birds are quite shy, I will be able to hide and leave the camera on a tripod, not today though in this weather!.

This weeks bargains, this Pyracantha was £5.50!, part of the Cotoneatser family.

Then this Bird Bath at £29.99, needs to be placed on something to higher it up away from the cats, there are a lot round our area!

Both items were from the Mockridge Garden Centre behind the Nottcuts Garden Centre at the Snipe Retail park.
