Busy day, 22.4.2015

Busy day today, first a bit of breakfast then load the car with some of the cut up decking from the other week!.
Called at the doctors with my repeat prescription  and then it was off to the tip with the wood, nice friendly guy there telling you where to drop your rubbish. I threw my old wood into the skip parked down below all well and good until a nail I hadn't flattened caught my arm and slashed it!. Trying to wrap my bloody arm without getting it all over my clothes was I bit of a struggle but managed it, so those 26 years in the ambulance service weren't wasted hey.
The tip was free, but if my arm drops off with this rusty nail it will give a whole new meaning to the term "It cost an arm and a leg".
Then it was call at McDonald's for a drink to take to the park as the Cafe was closed for refurbishment, Checking of course I wasn't covered in blood, you never know these days you could be surrounded be armed police with guns thinking you have done someone a mischief!.
After the visit to the park and a nice walk for Pepe it was off to the Hare and Hounds at Werneth Low  for Dinner with friends Bob and his wife Joyce. as it was his birthday today!.

I took the picture of Bob and Joyce and he took the picture of Joyce and I, Bob then did his magic with his PC and here it is!.

The view over Greater Manchester from the Pub outside dining area.

Nice dinner and great company, what more can you ask for.

After Bob and Joyce left for home, Pepe and I headed back to the park for another walk to burn off some of our dinner.

Only had my small pocket camera with me but it didn't do too bad with this Great Crested Grebe in the middle of the big lake

A couple of young swans.

This is a Coot nest, complete with an egg!.

In the undergrowth at the side of the big lake, Pepe sniffed out this egg, goose egg I would think though there wasn't any birds in the area of it.
So it has been a really good day.
Off  out with Marjorie tomorrow and weather forecast to be good, can't be bad!.

On the home front all my plants are thriving, and the garden is doing well.
These gnomes have been repainted and looking like new after the top was knocked off the toadstool.

That wood in the background was what I took to the tip today.

..........................................................................
Did you hear about the guy who bought his wife a new bag and belt for her birthday, the hoover works a lot better now!.

Two boy silkworms pursued a beautiful girl silkworm. They ended up in a tie!.

Five thousand hares have escaped from the zoo.
The police are combing the area!.
.....................................................................................................
That's all for now folks.
