Second week in June 2025.

Been a good week this week with Monday being the day my drivers seat in my car was replaced as there was a split in the side of the backrest material, so they ordered a new one when I bought it. It took three and a half hours for them to do the job whilst I sat on the most uncomfortable chairs imaginable, if one fell asleep one would have slid off and ended on the floor!.

Tuesday was better with the arrival of my new electric vehicle!, (don't be silly now), It was my electric BED, two really big black guys carried it upstairs and whilst one was setting up the electrics the other one carried the mattress up on his own!!, its a really good mattress, it's just that he was so big too.

There was a free mattress cover and I'd bought some new fitted sheets in green.

All set up, but no new quilt covers on yet.

Bit different than the night before when I'd slept on the floor!.

First morning in the new bed overslept for the first time in years, very comfortable!.

My side table in the living room, the Fablon didn't like bending over the edges

So it was on to Plan B, trim the edges and paint it black.

Then my good friend Jean, offered me some edging she had over from her kitchen, and I think it's great and just the right size!.

She also brought me a bungee cord for my car as my shopping kept falling out when I opened the side opening boot!, sorted now.

Ford didn't think it mattered when us Brits drove on the left, but if you open the boot to unload at your door, the boot door is in the wrong position for us!. still it's better than walking into the raised hatch lid which I used to do on a regular basis.

Been over to the Gorton lower ressers this week and the cygnets are all doing well.

Bought a couple of new plants for Alfie's box this week,
Re-potted, not sure what it is though.
Alfie doing well, this is a typical dinner for him, think he lived on Kale at his previous home!.

While in the garage using it for a Hide to watch the birds,
found this frame for the plant in the bedroom, can climb all it wants to now.

Not much in the garden in the way of birds, but it was in the afternoon, so only young house sparrows enjoying the food.

Here is an adult enjoying the suet pellets.

There was a nice narrow boat at Portland Basin on Tuesday by the way.

So a good week, and starting off this week, dinner with the family today for Fathers Day!.

First week in June, 2025

Monday it was off to Reddish Vale park where I'd not been for a while, but had heard there was a Little Egret there the day before!.

I was lucky that it was still there, I'd met Nicky Irwin photographing the Cygnets on the lower mill pond and she said the Egret was still on the upper mill pond!.

Preening.

Only the one Cormorant on the day.

Heron on top mill pond, is that a terrapin there too/.

Yes, there it is on one of their favourite perches.

Another one lower down the pond.

The young cygnets are doing well and feeding themselves, eating their greens!

Where's Mum and Dad gone?

Then it was off to the nest for the afternoon nap.

Squirrels everywhere!.

Tuesday it was off to The Bridge View Café to meet with my friend Jean, the car park was full of goslings!.

Luckily I always carry plenty of bird food in my car

Today Friday, whilst in Morrison's saw this, that's one heck of a difference in price and its just as good.

Trimmed the large shrub in the back garden this week and while I was doing that Alfie was playing out in his pen, when I was finished and looked round there was Alfie looking out, perhaps he was only watching me rather trying to escape!.
They are great escape artists, will have to watch that in future!.

This week I also changed my side table from this

To this with an offcut from my headboard, looks better even if I say so myself.

Finished this jigsaw this week as well, it was quite difficult with all those colours.

Going to the bridge Cafe tomorrow where you can get it for free!.

So a good week so far and got a message from the bed people that my bed is arriving on the 10th and not as stated when ordered 22nd so that's good as well.
Another great buy this week is this small bit of technology, it's a mp3 for ones car and at 128Gig will hold all my CD collection

£11.97 from Amazon!, now I can listen to my collection in my car as well as at home in my jukebox.
