Early Mayday weekend 2025.

 Went over to the Gorton Lower reservoir this weekend, not been there for a while, but thought the Great Crested Grebes must be nesting by now and they didn't disappoint me!.

There was plenty of activity on the water with canoes, paddle boarders all enjoying the sunshine in Manchester!!. 

 Reminds me of my son and his wife when they go to Bude and rent a cottage which comes with water sports equipment too!.

Meanwhile back home at Gorton the Great Crested grebes have done the mating dancing and the female is sat on her nest hopefully on some eggs.

 There is some steel mesh fencing in front of the grebes nest so one can't get too close and disturb her but my zoom gets me a bit closer.

The male was dashing about catching her dinner.

There is a coots nest nearby and coots aways seem to decorate their nests, perhaps to attract the female, but McDonalds cups isn't the thing because she got rid of them!.

Alfie is enjoying this nice sunny weather too out in the garden and eating El fresco, saves me doing his dinner!.

I bought another nice plant from Morrisons for the bedroom as the last one didn't seem to like the situation there.

Over the weekend saw on the internet that Catherine, Princess of Wales was in Dundee, and here she is at the wheel of Discovery that is on permanent display there. 

This is me at the same wheel whilst on holiday a few years ago.

Does this count as my 15 minutes of fame, which is said that everyone has?.

Well back to reality,
