Out and About, 27.1.2018.

Weather bad again this week but haven't let it keep us in, been out to Daisy Nook Country Park again and got some nice pictures for you!.
Joined the 'Friends of Daisy Nook Country Park' so that I could post some of my pictures taken there.

As you can see its a bit muddy and slippy to the moment with all the wet weather.

Down to the river .

Back to the Cafe and car park, Nice hot drink and good food, no meters either!!.

Cheeky Robin.

Was lucky enough to catch four pair of Goosanders on the fisherman's lake, they wouldn't like it though, not many fish left after these guys finished!.

Females, Making a right mess of my hair!

Male.

Blue Tit.

Great Tit

Nuthatch.

Black Bird.

The Swan seems to have found a mate.

Fishing mode!!.

And another, must be good fishing here.

A bit of sun on this day there and these Chinese Swan geese seem to appreciate it!.

Its the chap with the Hat Gladys, he always brings something.

Then another Day at Reddish Vale Country Park.
Weather still not good, with drizzle and overcast.
The Great Crested Grebes getting ready for a spot of mating.

Got to look my best for the ladies.

There we are ready for the action now!.

This one is having a Saturday morning lie in.

Then on the big lake spotted this nice Egyptian Goose,

Only looks a young one and not as much Red on it as the one that's been at Etherow for years.
And no leg rings, so no chance of checking it out at the moment.

Well that's it for another post, hope you like the pix's.

Daisy Nook this Week, 15.1.2017.

Few visits this week to Daisy Nook, spotted a few more birds you might like to see!.

Pink footed goose amongst the Canadian geese.

Put some seed on a wall for the small birds around, but the mallards were soon out of the water and flying up for the grub.

Mum was getting stuck in too.

Eyes down for a full house

Save some for us little guys.
Coat Tit.

Great Tit.

Chaffinch.

Dunnock, (Hedge Sparrow).

Chinese Swan Geese still there but with their guardian.

Get in line at the back there.

Round the back was this Heron quite Dark in places, perhaps a Male?.

This Nuthatch looks like its got a mouth and nose instead of a beak doesn't it!, could do with those claws trimming too, there again its more suited for hanging upside down on tree bark isn't it

Wondered why this big girl kept coming up to the fence every time I've seen it and here's the reason why, a young girl and her parents had a bag of carrots, they soon learn don't they!.

A Dalmatians day out, not quit a 101, but perhaps that many spots?.

So even though its been a cold wet week we haven't let it get us down, there is always someone at the Nook to chat to in the Cafe and the food is excellent!.

Daisy Nook Country Park, 9.1.2018.

Today at Daisy Nook, on arrival decided to go for our walk first as it was quite cold, then we would be ready for a hot meal afterwards, that was the idea anyway!.

Captured these little fellows on the way down the canal path.

Eventually arrived at Crime Lake, though like everywhere else it was a bit deserted,

Except for these nice Chinese Swan Geese!.

Can imagine one saying to the other ,
'Are you sure he's mine!'

There used to be one of these at Etherow for years before it got too old.

A beautiful swan to keep them company.

On the way back to the Cafe, noticed this dog had a Webcam on its back!, what ever next!.

The Highland cattle came up from the valley to greet us again, perhaps remembered us from a previous post, there again, like the ducks thought I had something to eat.
When it realised I didn't have anything, gave me a raspberry, brrrr.

Back at the Cafe again, cold and hungry, as you can see not many people about, so felt it was my duty to go in and keep the profits up don't want they closing for lack of customers do we.
With my eye on my FitBit watch decided to forgo the sausage and Bacon today and go for the slightly healthier option

A toastie with rabbit food!, makes you feel guilty with the watch on, still nicely presented hey!.

Enter stage left Barbara Streisand & Barry Gibb with 'Guilty' one of my favourites.

A three legged dog walks into a wild west bar and says,
'I'm looking for the man who shot my Paw'.

Beer; helping ugly people have sex since 3000 bc!.
