Day out with Pepe

Yesterday Pepe and I had a day out in the wonderful sunshine, almost forgot what it was like.
First we went to Birch Services on the M62 as my Iphone App said there were some Spot's there and plenty passing on the motorway.
Getting a bacon buttie and coffee from Gregg's shop there, and who do you think was in there in the queue Tim Fox! of the TV program "Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailer's", so it was round to the truck park with the camera and here you go.
His truck at the moment "Alison Victoria"
He said "it's a bit mucky at the moment", I'm not surprised when you see some of the places he has to get that truck and trailer into.

And the man himself, Tim Fox.
What a nice guy he is, as in the program always laughing!.
Off to Kings Lynn from there, quite a way from Birch.

Although I got many more pix's there won't bore you with them.

Then it was off to Chadderton Hall Park, yes you've guessed it it's in Chadderton!.
Beautiful sunny day still and was abell to get some good pix's, good for me that is, some photographer's might question that, still it's how you see yourself that matters isn't it.

Off the lead and hunting in the woods, but nowhere near the water say's he!.

Then back to the Cafe for a nice Chicken salad muffin, the staff there are very nice too.
Will be going to Chadderton again that's for sure.

Yesterday 1.1 Scale remodelling

Yesterday tired of tripping over the corner of the decking that's been there for a number of years I finally decided to do something about it!.
So it was out with my new battery powered tools I'd bought last year and got stuck in, first it was a straight edge to cut to, as seen by my son John who is in the refurbishment trade, and of course you need a little helper like a hole in the head don't you!.
The battery circular saw was good but the wood underneath was still damp, so it was a number of shallow cuts to get though, so took a bit longer plus the saw cut wasn't deep enough so had to finish with     a manual saw.
So apart from the damp wood it turned out well, aching shoulder's now though.
Ryobi tools, the best and no wires to worry about, same battery fit's all!.

Clear path to the back gate now.

As you can see the very wet winter we are having is playing havoc with the fencing.
This side is alright but the other side is full of moss, still it will but sorted out in the spring.

Just want the sun now, to get out the chairs and lounger.

I don't usually take pictures of trucks other than Eddie Stobart but they certainly stand out in the crowd don't they.

But this one stopped at my favourite buttie wagon near to B&Q at the Snipe, caught my eye because of the views of Cumbria on it

Front and sides.

Side windows

Side of Diesel tanks

And then of course you can't miss this one can you, perhaps it's a lady driver, lot's of those about these days, and I'm not bothered about that.

Past few days

Not done much the last few days except keep warm the same as everyone else!.
Friend Bob saw my new hat and I said next time we meet at the lake take my picture in it, so with the ever  ready photoshop program he has he came up with this
The new hat and hat band

And has you can see Bob has changed the one on the picture at the top of the blog, very tricky Bob.
Just have to get John to change the original one now, when he has a minute which isn't very often with his family, work and church commitments.

Whilst at John's having my Sunday dinner this week, there was Jessie with her collar on after having been spayed on the Tuesday, it comes off this Friday.
She didn't seem too bothered with this collar, but I'd left Pepe at home as he might have got hurt in the dashing about they do, I nearly had my ear off in the initial greeting!.
It was handy when the table was being cleared though, just brush the crumbs and debris into the collar and she eats it, makes it all worthwhile hey!.

This seems a doggie Eureka moment, get your chewie stick lodged into someone's toes and then you can have a good old chew, hard luck if she misses though!

Went down to the lake in the week and whilst there pruned the Roses there as they were getting a bit out of hand, I know some gardeners out there will say "it's the wrong time of the year" but when it get's a bit warmer they could do with replacing with something without big thorns!.

Well that's all for to-day folks

Yesterday

As it was the school holiday's I picked up grand-daughter Ruthie and we went down to Ashton town centre for a bit of window shopping.
I'd had a call on the way there from the shop in Ashton to say that the new hat band I'd ordered with my new Tilley hat had arrived, taken about 3 weeks still one off orders alway's take some time don't they.
The hat is the same as in the top picture only a different colour, Green same as my very first one!, Velda give that to the water bailiff at the lake when she bought me the cream one!.
And there it is, with a Eddie Stobart theme.
The supplier was told by the shop keeper to check the Stobart website for the colour I wanted for the band and I think they made a very good match don't you?.
Ruthie bought some craft items from the haberdashery stall in the indoor market and not long after I got home she sent me this picture of the bracelet she had made, very artistic hey.

Of course we had lunch whilst out, at the Ash Tree opposite the indoor market and that was very tasty!

After checking out the stalls in the market and buying half a dozen Duck eggs as Ruthie had never eaten one (and neither had any of the family we found out later) She had a Hot chocolate at the Cafe there

Couldn't get much more on that hey,

I called at the model shop and managed to get a Eddie Stobart model truck, knocked down from £75 to £40 and managed to get it further deduced to £35 so was happy with that.
There it is a 1.50 scale Corgi Daf truck in the old livery, the one on top was a present from my mate Bob, I think it was a celebration gift on my becoming a Anorak!, still it get's you out and meeting people doesn't it.
The other day at the lake I couldn't get out of the car with my camera fast enough, as there was a lady with a dog on her lap at the Cafe.
"Is it a Pomeranian" I asked, "Yes" she said, so I took it's picture so that everyone who think's Pepe is one can see the difference!.

Pepe

Pomeranian
And as you can see the difference is in a sharper beak on the Pom, not much but that's it.
and a more prominent stop between the eyes on Pepe.
You learn some useless information every day don't you, but no info is wasted is it!.

Whilst on Dog's here is Ruthie's artistic drawing of her dog Jessie the Cockerpoo.

The small village was having a first aid lecture in the village hall and learning how to stop bleeding.
"Of course you all know what a corpuscle is" said the instructor.
"Most of us do" said the arrogant chairman, "But you'd better explain it for the sake of those who have never been in one"

The past week

Hadn't realised that its been so long since I last did a post, can only put it down to the cold!.
Whilst at the new Pets at Home super market (the Snipe Ashton) saw these cute little things,
They are Degu's and as you can see they are quite sociable creatures stacked up in three layers, a bit like big gerbils.
The new store is very nice and full of goodies which I like to take Pepe to so that he doesn't think its all pain and suffering when he goes there.

On one of my many trips to the lake at Etherow saw these beautiful swans, not had any there for the last couple of years

The Mummy returns!.

This caption should read, "I know there's a blue tag on your leg dear", "we all have one!, so you will have to learn to live with it, now eat your bread before these greedy Teal's get it all!.

Then saw this nice little wagtail at Birch services
Pied Wagtail

Then had a word with this lady, as I thought the dog she was exercising was the same as son John's a Cockerpoo, but when I asked her if it was she said No! its a Caverpoo, which is another mixed breed of a Cavalier Spaniel and a Poodle, hence no dog hair everywhere as you can clearly see from the ladies jacket, wish my hound was of a similar type, this one is 15 month's old, beautiful hey.

My best SPOT of the week with my "Eddie" spotting was this new tanker "Pru" which was sat at my local Tesco supermarket waiting to unload, made the drudgery of shopping a bit brighter that day.
William certainly keeps a nice clean fleet doesn't he, even if you'r not a club spotter you can't fail to notice these White, Green and Red trucks on our roads can you.
.........................................................................................................
Whilst writing about trucks, how about these nice model's!.

Things past.

Over the past week I've moved my desk top computer into the living room, with John's help, as he was passing and called in to install my new printer.

All fitted and working , John attached the new printer and it seems a lot more user friendly that the old one, I suppose they do the best with  technology at the time!.
Even kept Pepe's toy storage!, as you can see
Now got my Internet connection from my modem to the Sky Box so can get even more repeat's on the channels on my Sky system!.
The Silver keyboard at the side of the photograph is for the Ipad, bought on the internet and is a lot easier that the on screen keyboard, but I suppose it's what you get used to and your own choice in the end.
Cleaned out and changed water in my Aquarium Sunday morning!, fish all doing well!.
Was having my Sunday dinner at John's yesterday and he took this picture of the two hound's
They are getting on a lot better now that Jessie is calming down a bit, but it's early days yet as she is still only 6 month's old, but very intelligent, must be in the breed or should I say two breed's!.
Jessie run's ring's round Pepe in all departments, sniffing things out, water play and seeing thing's, there again Pepe is a lap dog and was bought by Velda as such. He get's top mark's for company though!!.

If you are wondering what's happening on the modelling front, in a word "Nothing" I just don't seem to be in the mood for modelling at the moment, I think all modeller's go though a period like this, then you see something that set's you off again and you are away again, so watch this space.

Still doing my "Eddie Stobart" Spotting and spotted a few on the way to the lake on Friday!

Well that's all for now folk's
