Friday-Saturday, 10-11.5.2023

Friday I went down to the Vale, it was a beautiful sunny day.

Think most of the wildlife were having a snooze in the shade, but I did manage to get a few pictures.

Plenty of Mandarin's about, mostly Males, perhaps all the females are sat on eggs in their nests.

The terrapins were all out sunning themselves and catching a few rays.

This very large one is on the top mill pond.

This one too.

Crow enjoying a Bourbon biscuit.

Beautiful Robin.

Nice colourful Chaffinch, shame he's got a bad case of Bumblefoot.

Put this picture on the Vale website and said I wasn't the chap talking to the Lady Sarah, he answered with his name and even the lady with the rucksack in the far background replied with her name
Gave the Lady Sarah one of my business cards and she texted me that evening to say hello, lovely lady!.
Then I read a terrible text on her website the next morning to say that both her families Coffee wagons had been vandalized that night so wouldn't be back at the vale for a while until they could get their vehicles repaired, there are some terrible people out there, don't want to work and stop them that do!.

Remember in the last post, we had gone to The Bridge View café on Thursday to find it was closed and the flour inside was empty and industrial mop buckets in the middle of the floor, I thought it was a burst or something, Wrong!!.
Well today the mystery was solved as they were moving all the tabled back and giving the place a very good clean,(not that it's not clean anyway) but on the Friday they were hosting the event for the people who run the narrow boat for the disabled and the Princess Royal was in attendance!.

Seen on Tameside website.

That's the owner of the café Brian on the right of the Princess.
...........
The Bridge view café host quite a few events during the year, here are a few of them.

I remember we went one day and it was an event for the Steam Punk people and gave a lot of photographers some good shots, and we had a really good time chatting to the Steam punkers, finding out what they were all about.

Brian the owner gave us all a free coffee today as he thought he or his wife had warned us they would be shut on the Thursday and was most apologetic, but as I said he must have had plenty more things on his mind.
So it was another good day today, except for Sarah's bad news, hope she get's sorted soon.
