Friday, 5.4.2024.

Yesterday I got my order of some lighting tubes from Amazon, 6 LED tubes at 10 watts each and all the fittings for each to be fitting individually or in any configuration you  fancy.

You might remember I'd changed my neon strip light in the garage from this.

To this which didn't look right in a garage, which made me look on Amazon for something more industrial looking.

Came up with this bargain of 6 tubes and all the fitting for them at £39.99.

This is three of the tubes joined with connectors, plugs at one end and blanks at the other, very easy to fit once you've studied the attached instructions.

So that's only 30 watts and a better light as it spreads it round better.

One of my friends Christmas pressies, came in very handy as the screws provided were very (My Newt) minute.
3 cross and 3 straight drivers in very small scale.

Today went over to Debdale,  (it was raining of course) to see the Hearts_Mural on the sailing clubs wall, as the chap saw my comments on the Debdale website that I thought it was finished and he commented that it wasn't and had added some Bees on it!.

There they are and then I noticed an owl silhouette in the tree, some detail to be added to that I'm sure if the other murals I've seen at Reddish Vale are anything to go by.

There's even a beehive on the other side!.

Had some dinner at Sainsburys and shopping done, it was home again in the rain, and there was another friend to welcome me.

Remember the small marked table I'd bought at Pear Mill the other day, had another idea .

Here it is now covered in vinyl and the edges painted with acrylic paint in stock.
Won't ever be folding it will I.

I'd ordered some brass switch plates to replace the two dimmer switches I'd changed and it's taken 8 days to come today from the suppliers though ordered through Amazon.

So both fitted and back to normal now.

Then on the other hand ordered this tester last night at 7pm and it was in my porch by dinnertime today!, how is that for service and free delivery with Prime membership.

Chinese of course and stickers all over the instructions!, perhaps they had heard that most men never read the instructions in the UK!.

Don't think Alfie likes this pressie one of my friends bought me, he keeps trying to shove it off the hearth.

Will keep checking the Heart_ mural again, though the weather is probably holding the painter up.

Who invented Break dancing?,
A guy trying to steal hub caps of a moving vehicle.

Two cows,  Daisy and Dolly in a field, Daisy said  "I was artificially inseminated this morning",
"I don't believe you" says Dolly, Daisy says "It's true No Bull!"

Tuesday at Pear Mill, 2.4.2024.

Tuesday the gang went to Pear mill, not sure if it would be open with the new owners!, but it was open and doing a good trade.

Chris the Singer was there too, singing "If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me"  her husband doesn't look too pleased!.

Sat near us was this huge dog, you can see the size of it against the chair, when we asked the breed, it turned out to be a cockerpoo, a cross between a miniature poodle and a large springer spaniel, very unusual colouring as well!.

That's a large Jack Russel with it.

On the way out I spotted a nice small folding table which I'd been looking for, for a long time, only £32 a few marks on it but I will sort that out eventually.

Place mat on it for now.

I've had this settee for a few years and never sat on the left side there simply because I've had nowhere to put my drinks!, so now I will be able to get my full use out of it. It will give me the chance to refurbish the leather on the right side too.

Changed the light in the box room as well this last couple of days, from a hanging globe to this 22 Watt circular one, same as the ones in the hall and stairs.

On the way home from Morrisons today popped over to Debdale to see if there was any change on the mural on the sailing centre wall, and there was!.
Looks like they have finished as the orange barriers have been taken down.
I would have put money on there being a few boats on the picture, being on the sailing centre wall, but I've never been good at betting, at least there are a couple of swans.
Will keep checking it out to make sure it's finished.

Put's it to scale when you see this dogwalker against it doesn't it.

As it was still raining ( only spitting really) I called it a day and headed home.
I always get a nice welcome these days from this beautiful moggie and a couple of it's mates, only cupboard love I suppose!.

Not much doing in the garden today, perhaps the birds are sick of this weather too.
Great  Tit though the rain.

This white pigeon as mastered the art of getting food from the goldfinches feeders.

Watch this space for more lighting ideas in the house and garage!.

Easter bank Holiday, 2024.

Thursday 28th was my friends birthday, well actually it was the next day but we don't meet on Fridays so it was the presents hand over on the Thursday.

It was nice and busy for the owners and my mate and neighbour Chris was there singing.

There's the birthday girl too, though she didn't sing, usually when people see a mike they can't get to it fast enough, there was a young lad got up and had a sing, didn't get his picture.

Jean got this cake from the management and the rest of us got some cakes too.

A few of the customers

We had another visit there on the Saturday.

These chaps were walkers and the lady in the background had a giant Labradoodle.

This is the lady labradoodle, a cross with a standard poodle and a Labrador.

Always a nice floral display on every table.

Back home over the Bank Holiday, always tend to stay in and let the workers have free rain, (excuse the Pun)
Whilst in the Hide, (Garage) snapped the Goldfinches stocking up ready for the busy breeding season.

There are a few Dunnocks about too, eating off the floor, since the Goldfinches are quite fussy eaters.

Then looked at the lighting and there it is two 60watt tubes, you can't buy the ordinary bulbs and tubes anymore only LEDs but here's a tip for you go to Home Bargains two pack for cheaper price than B&Q.

So changed them, for this 36 Watt Led light, a bit fancy for the garage, but might change it if I see a more industrial looking one then find somewhere else for this one.

Whilst in the garage, had an idea for The Gate (the on going project that seems to be lasting for ever) I hung it up so I could get all round at once!.
A good coat of  Black Satin Hammerite which I had in stock.

Then back in the house, changed the dimmer switch in the front room back to an ordinary switch (its actually the original one) so that I can change that light for an LED too eventually.

No decorating required hey.

So its been a fruitful weekend, what with the odd jobs, friends birthday, shopping and dining out, kept busy!.
Glad the Bank holiday is over now though, must be getting old thinking that.
