Last few days

Sunday's I usually go to Number One Son's for dinner but had to give it a miss this week as a couple of the family had stomach bug's, they are better now I'm glad to say, I made up for it by going out to dinner with mate Bob!. he has to take his wife Joyce to meet her lady relatives once a month at the Hare and Hounds at Werneth Low, so we decided to have dinner there as well, in another room of course.

The Wild Bunch
Well we wouldn't want to tangle with this lot would we!
We had a nice meal same as last time and left the ladies there to do their nattering.

Finished my Tomb Raider 2013 game, was a hard one that with lots of baddies, the one at the end was really tough!.

Tuesday and Wednesday I was up at John's to do a bit of Puppy minding as John was in Scotland, wifey was working  and children in Venice with their other Grandparent's, beats the pant's off Prestatyn that doesn't it!.

I had a bit more exercise with Jessie the Cockapoo as she is a bit stronger than Pepe and needs a bit longer walk, so it was off down the Leesbrook Nature Trail which is just behind the houses opposite John's.
Tuesday it was off to the right and up the hills.

Then Wednesday it was off to the left pathway
Be a lot nicer in Summer when the trees are not so bare, still its nice to have this on your doorstep isn't it.

Why am I tied up here, my dad always let's me off my lead, Well I'm not your dad I'm your Grand/dad so live with it!.

Then it was back to her home, a drink and a read of my book to pass another hour with her!.

During the week I got a notification on Facebook that one of my friends Kath had posted a picture which included me?.
Night duty in the Ambulance control, I think they thought that was me at the back, I don't think so!, I would have had a white shirt like the rest, but there is Kath, Tony and Bryn, who is that at the back?, a driver I think!.

Then there was another picture of some of the girls from the call centre
And there is Velda middle row right, in the jumper, always had a jumper on!
Aah happy days, though very busy at the Manchester control Centre there was a great sense of team work.
Well on that happy note I'll leave you.

Fred got interested in his ancestors. He looked up his family tree and found most of them still swinging in the branches!.

They say that children brighten up the home. That's because they never turn the ruddy lights off!.

Busy Sunday March 2013

Yesterday after a visit to Etherow, where though it was quite cold the club members were out in force for the first Steering comp of this years competition.
Competitors.

There's Pepe acting as guard dog, he'll do anything for a bit of sandwich.

After that it was off up to Oldham to John and Joanne's for Sunday dinner, very nice as usual!.
Then whilst the girls watched a video of one of their previous Church camps, John and I took the dogs up to Dovestones reservoir for a walk,
Nice rolling hills

Yacht club, though not as active as Etherow

There again to be fair it was later on in the afternoon

Jessie raring too go

The long, the short and the hat.

One of the main reason's of going there was to have a look at the Trees for life scheme they have there, which is a scheme where you can buy a tree and have an inscription on it for a loved one who has passed away, have been thinking of this for a while, so we went to see the new site that's been opened, all the others are full! so it's a popular scheme and such a nice setting!.
This is the new section, and as you can see it's right beneath Indian Head rocks, turn the picture on the side to see the Indian, no fault of mine if you put your neck out doing this (I think the proper name on the map is Wimberry Rocks or something similar)
Looking the other way it's over the water, so would be a beautiful setting for Velda's ashes, which she would like as we've spent many happy times there.
More on this after I've made the enquiries!.

Then John took me up to the top end of Uppermill where there is a nice Cafe And its dog friendly, you can take your dog's inside or sit out on the back at tables fronting on to the canal and watch the Narra boats drifting by.
John and Joanne been there with Jessie and recommend the food, so will be giving that a visit with Pepe soon.

I've got my XBox 360 console out again and Bob and I are both playing the latest Tomb Raider 2013 Game, ( Bob on his PC) it's hard at our age, suppose the kid's have it done in no time.

I asked Bob to put my picture onto a Lara Croft picture which he did!
NO No Bob that's not what I meant!.

That's better Bob, He's a comedian isn't he!.

Education is what you get from reading the small print.
Experience is what you get from not reading it.

"Sir, I want your daughter for my wife"
"Well I'm not swapping until I've seen your wife"!.

That's all for now folks
