The past week, 15.12.2017- 19.12.2017.

The past few days has seem Pepe and I out and about to Grandpa Greens cafe in Diggle where we had a very nice lunch and though it was very cold outside we were nice and warm in the doggie area that has a big heater on the ceiling!.

The Cafe.

Time lapse with the iPhone!.

Walking off his sausages.

The other Peter in the group, with his on loan dog Button!.

Snow on them there hills!

Then it was another visit to Daisy Nook Country Park on the Friday which turned out to be very cold.

What I lot I've got, which one will I chose first?.

Get stuck in before it all goes!

Can't we go home now, its freezing!.

You've got your mask on, looks better with that on says he!.

I'm nodding off here, Stood up!.

Today at Reddish Vale, after a cuppa and a chat in the info Centre, had a walk round to the big tree to see if there where any Parakeets there today, and here they are,

Two out today, but a lady on the Stockport Nature Watch website reported there were lots of them on her bird feeders in her garden, so perhaps giving the Vale a miss today for better picking elsewhere!.

As you can see it was quite misty on the big lake

Then as I got nearer realised why, it was frozen under the misty parts as you can see the birds stood on the ice

On this picture you can see the reflections of the flying birds on the ice!

I was in luck today as there were a pair of Goosanders flying between the lakes.
The Male.

The female, pictures not too good with the misty conditions.

At least you can see what they are!.

Then last but not least a pair of Little Grebes!.

Back down near the entrance, where everyone feeds them were these ducks,

Rain drops keep falling on my head?, no that's where I've been diving for the seed that sinks!.

Arches in the mist!.

That's all folks.

It was off to Morrison's for their famous Fish & Chips, lovely grub!.

So even  though the weather hasn't been very nice still got Out and About with the Dog Walkers and their dogs.

Last day of November 2017!.

Last day of November went out with a shiver from everyone, first thing was scrape the ice off the windscreen of the new car! (new to me anyway).

Breakfast at McDonalds, Drink anyway!.

Then it was off to Diggle, up though Uppermill to Grandpa Greens, the popular canal side Cafe.

Looks lovely doesn't it, but appearances can be deceptive can't they!, it was blooming freezing!, though inside the area where you can take your dogs was nice and warm with an overhead heater and we all settled down to the new Over Sixties Special or the other nice choices on the very variable menu!.

The outdoor area decorated for Christmas, but not many takers for sitting out today!.
..........................................................................................
The CafĂ© has also launched a ‘GG’s 60 Club’ offering over 60s a meal of home-made soup, a sandwich, and ice-cream with pot of Yorkshire tea for £6.95. The deal is valid weekdays from 10am-4pm, excluding holidays.

The soup of the day, today was Potato and leek, and yes that's the soup!, couldn't get much thicker than that could you!, and it was delicious. My choice of Sandwich was Ham and Cheese equally nice and then you took the ice cream cone to the counter and had your choice of ice cream and being their speciality as you can imagine there was a great variety.
There is even Mince pie & Christmas pudding flavour!.

The two ladies had another drink whilst the two Peter's took the three dogs for a walk up to the Standedge Tunnel.

Nice gate on the tunnel, we were wondering how it worked if there were a boat going in the opposite direction and met in the middle of the tunnel, will made an effort to find out!.

On the way home we called at The Hartshead Pub for another drink and chat and warm up!
......................................................................................

The day before had a visit to Daisy Nook Country Park Cafe and saw that they had put up their Christmas decorations.
Another nice place for eating and very pleasant staff, and best of all 'Dog's Allowed'

A traffic cop pulls level with a speeding car on the motorway.
Glancing over at the car, hes astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel is knitting!.
The policeman cranks down his window and yells, 'Pull over!, No shouts back the blonde
'Scarf'!.

Middle October 2017.

Since my last post been to Reddish Vale and there were 20 cormorants there!.

Posted this picture on a new forum I've joined, Stockport Nature Watch, hoping someone will enlighten me as to the different colours on them

Too tired to fish any more.

And I'm too full to even stand up!

The new forum joined,

Been to Grandpa Greens Cafe today with friends, whilst it was overcast with the Red Sun it was nice and warm.

This photo turned out an unusual colour due to the light from the red sun!.

Outside the Cafe.

The Gates to the Standedge Tunnel, quite ornate hey!.

Our group on the right there, been a few extra decorations put up since the last time we were here.

Has Noah's ark been discovered on this canal??.

Plenty of adventure things for the kids to play on away from the water.

This is some sort of game played with this dice and the flagstones below!.

The things I posted about on our last visit turned out to be buds!

You can see them a bit closer.

Even outside is nice as you walk up to the Cafe from the entrance by the lock gates.

So another nice day out with friends, grab them whilst you can hey, its a long winter!.
