Small world isn't it

It's a small world isn't it, as mentioned in the previous post, I bought three books in a charity shop and yesterday I looked more closely at them thinking I'd read one of them before, but as they would be going back to a charity shop or church bazaar I didn't mind too much. Then I noticed a folded piece of paper in the one I thought I'd read before and upon reading it realised it looked familiar, and it was a receipt for a camera from the law courts in Manchester. You are not allowed to take camera's into the courts as I know when I went to the probate courts almost two years ago now, you hand them in and get a receipt and claim it back on your way out, I'd used mine as a bookmark whilst reading in the queue and got it back yesterday!, yes it was my receipt in this book, with my signature plain to see, how weird is that!.

Back to the normal my sister sent me this one from OZ, there again there is perhaps someone on the bus you know!.

 A new Government initiative:

To help save the economy, the Government
will announce next month that the Immigration
Department will start deporting senior citizens
(instead of illegals) in order to lower Social
Security and N.H.S. costs ('flu jabs, Zimmer frames,
wheelchairs, free prescriptions, bus passes, etc.)

The Government has established that older people
are easier to catch and, in most cases,
will not remember how to get back home.

I started to cry when I thought of you -
maybe I'd never see you again..

Then it dawned on me...
bugger!...

I'll see you on the bus!

Thats all for now folks.

Past few days

Not done much the last few days except keep warm the same as everyone else!.
Friend Bob saw my new hat and I said next time we meet at the lake take my picture in it, so with the ever  ready photoshop program he has he came up with this
The new hat and hat band

And has you can see Bob has changed the one on the picture at the top of the blog, very tricky Bob.
Just have to get John to change the original one now, when he has a minute which isn't very often with his family, work and church commitments.

Whilst at John's having my Sunday dinner this week, there was Jessie with her collar on after having been spayed on the Tuesday, it comes off this Friday.
She didn't seem too bothered with this collar, but I'd left Pepe at home as he might have got hurt in the dashing about they do, I nearly had my ear off in the initial greeting!.
It was handy when the table was being cleared though, just brush the crumbs and debris into the collar and she eats it, makes it all worthwhile hey!.

This seems a doggie Eureka moment, get your chewie stick lodged into someone's toes and then you can have a good old chew, hard luck if she misses though!

Went down to the lake in the week and whilst there pruned the Roses there as they were getting a bit out of hand, I know some gardeners out there will say "it's the wrong time of the year" but when it get's a bit warmer they could do with replacing with something without big thorns!.

Well that's all for to-day folks

Out, about and modelling

Wednesday evening it was the boat judging at the club for the best builds over the past year.
I was not Abell to enter my "Narra boat" as I was a judge this year after winning best build last year!
Then I realised that John was entering two of his boats so it was agreed by all the other judges that I should step down to be fair to everyone.

Yesterday had a run to Etherow Park and met friends Bob and Joyce as I was coming away and they invited me to join them in their walk so it was a nice change to chat with them round the lake instead of in their living room, and the dogs seemed to enjoy the company of each other!.
Then as we were all getting ready to leave, another surprise, an invite to Abell Towers for dinner to-day!, what good friends they are.

On the modelling front since the last post I've made a start on the Cod End gantry, all will be revealed if you don't know what one of those are.
Legs made of 5mm square section

Two sets of legs joined in the middle

Checking for square

Then realised that after making up cage built over the plan in the instruction book that it was all nice and square,! its on a sloping deck!! and was sat at an angle, so I had what Mate Bob would call a Eureka moment and got out my laser
This checks out the water line and also the vertical.

So after packing up to the red line was abell to find the amount to come off one side

And there it is nice and square.

Then I had another Eureka moment, laser was too high on the shelf I'd attached it to!.

Then thought would my camera tripod fit it?

And Eureka! it did.
So it all worked out a treat, so I'm going to put a few more bits and pieces on the structure to make it more sturdy looking and then its on to something else.
Bye for now folks.
