Nice dry cool weekend, 22-23.1.22.

Lunch at Pear Mill Saturday, followed by a visit to Sainsburys to check out the Specsavers shop which I hadn't realised was there.

When I got there the lady didn't know what Wax filters were!, which didn't bode well for me, then she said the Audiology department wasn't open on Saturdays, only Tuesday and Fridays, which I thought was a bit  naughty of them not making that clear on their website, apart from giving the Spec ladies more work looking for items they didn't even know what they were looking for, I will be having words on Tuesday!.

Sunday was a trip to McDonalds, lunch in the park car park, then round the Ressers.

Met a nice couple in the car park cleaning off their Cockerpoo, which as I know from my Son's couple of them can get quite muddy, they love it and seem to find all the water and mud they can.

The swans are different again and are always preening themselves have to keep their feathers nice, clean and waterproof.

Even youngsters learn this early.

Only one Cormorant there today!.

Been diving for it's dinner, so has to sit like this to dry out it's feathers, which aren't as waterproof as other water fowl which helps them whilst diving.

Male Tufted Duck.

The Female Tufted Duck.

So it was home then, as it was quite cold by then and even  Pepe with his coat on was feeling it!.

Home by the fire in his new box and woolly  blanket.

So a good day, always good to met other people, that's what getting out is all about isn't it!.

Perhaps meet that couple with the Cockerpoo again at Pear Mill as I told them about the welcome they would get with their hound getting looked after like all the dogs there.

Nice sunny Thursday, 20.1.22.

Today at Pear Mill Café we had a good chat putting the world to rights!.

Two Peter's and a Jean, our regular gang.

Quite busy today, hope some of these are not supposed to be working from home!.

After we broke up, I went round to the back of the mill to see if the Peregrine Falcons were there, and they didn't let me down.
There were two right at the top of the 200ft chimney.
Can you spot them?.

The top one.

The lower one.

So was quite pleased with that, and after a bit of shopping on the way home decided it was too nice and sunny to go home.
It was off to the ressers at Debdale.
Luckily the Avian Flu hasn't hit Debdale.

The view across the water to the Pennines in the background.

Zoomed in to the maximum, not sure what that big bird is in the distance.

So a good cool sunny day again, all helps to shorten the winter doesn't it.

Today in Debdale park, 18.1.22.

Nice sunny day today in Debdale Park, though quite cold we were well wrapped up.

Pepe looking a bit rough, as it's his wash and trim tomorrow, so a trip to Oldham and a nice bacon buttie at the Village Manor bakery while I wait for him.

Last nights full moon over Stockport.

Captured the Ring Necked Parakeets today investigating a possible nesting site, remember it was used by the couple last year.

What do you think of it Gladys?.

Plenty of these little chaps about.

Plenty of activity in the orchard today once I put some seed on the owl sculpture

Nuthatch, with Robin waiting it's turn.

Just near to the toilets.

Blue Tit.

Wood Pigeon, Robin and Male Blackbird all feeding together.
So another nice day in the park, hope this weather stays for a while longer.

New Year 2022. 16.1.22

Well, 2022 hasn't started off too well for us.

On Thursday evening put on the telly, well tried too and it was dead!.

So it was off to Curry's after dinner when the traffic had died down and bought a new 50"  one.

Good job I didn't buy a bigger one as it wouldn't have fit in the alcove.

All singing and dancing, you can even talk to it and tell it to change channels.

The bird feeder I made last Sunday is up on the window.

I'd said to my friend Jean, I've had one on the window before and the pigeons flapping their wings to stay on the window sill mark all the glass with the dust off their wings!.
"Why don't you put it higher up", she said, "Never thought of that" said I, what a gorrrp hey.

Dry but dull day today at the Debdale ressers, so it wasn't too bad being well wrapped up.

Bottoms up!.

What can you see down there.

The little Grebes were a bit nearer today., three in all.

This one had caught a fish.

There was a Great Crested Grebe there too today.

Mr & Mrs Puddle Duck.

So even with having to buy a new telly, not been too bad a week, though could have done without all the news from Australia about No-Vac the tennis player, who like most rich people think the rules don't apply to them!.

Also all the parties at No10 that have come to light whilst we were all complying to the rules, what a sad picture in the news of the Queen sat in church at her husbands funeral, in a pew on her own, and to hear that No 10 had had two parties the night before!.

Perhaps its a new section in ministers training, that as well as being able to not answer a straight question, also to lie though their teeth and keep a straight face, most of us would blush and squirm at the questions they have been asked.

What a shock for people that have lost loved ones during all this!.
