The past few days, 11.4.21.

Popped up to Mossley yesterday to see my youngest Granddaughter and her hubbies new house, and very nice too, was quite envious!, lovely rural area and plenty of scenery to explore!

Though just as I was leaving it started to snow and makes you think what it will be like in the dead of winter!.

Today (Sunday) after lunch at McDonald's Pepe and I went to Debdale Park and round to the Eco Centre, well it will be, when they get  going after the lockdown.

Some of the area has been started.

Car park and the light blue door on the right is the staff office and brewing station, was offered a nice cup of coffee today.

There are bird feeders in the trees there.

Some of the Blue Tits enjoying the snacks.

Pepe guarding my rucksack seat and bird food.

After a beautiful sunny day as soon as we got home it started to snow, only in England, brilliant sunshine and snowing.

Didn't stop my lovely goldfinches coming for their Sunflower hearts.

Think they are eating for a dozen each now, hopefully anyway!.

So another good day at Debdale, if you've never been its worth a visit, nice wide tarmacked paths so social distancing good!, mind you you will always get the odd ones that think its not necessary, but they will be the ones that might finish up in hospital hey!.

You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

A man swallowed all the tiles from a scrabble set, doctors said the problem will eventually work itself out, but not in so many words!.

My father told me all about the birds and the bees, the liar!, I went steady with a woodpecker for years!.

Its the way I tell em!

Easter Weekend 2021.

Had a nice Easter weekend though I was dreading it really with all the crowds that would be at Debdale, going  by the crowds that had been going over the last weeks.

I spent most of my time in the solitude of the Orchard where we had added to the feeders that someone had placed there.

Plenty of squirrels about after the peanuts we brought with us.

The couple of Jays we had seen before were still there and enjoying the peanuts.

The Long Tailed Tits came for the fat balls.

Blue Tits enjoying the fat ball too.

A bit big for me! says the Great Tit.

A Coal Tit.

The beautiful Robins.

Love these suet pellets with meal worms in!.

There were two Great Crested Grebes on the lower reservoir

They had been doing their courting dance, but by the time I got in range they had settled down for an afternoon nap, tiring stuff this courting.

Also on the reservoir was the resident bully boy.

A greedy Magpie in the park.

For those of you that like a spring flower plenty of those about in the park.

Some nice colourful Chaffinches around .

And their not so colourful females.

The Coots are all nesting and fighting for space and building materials.

Father & son sailing their little boats, told them about Etherow park Model boat Club but they didn't seem interested, the boats will be in the back of the toy cupboard shortly no doubt!.

Whilst on boats saw this at the sailing club.

There is one of the boats as well, the Covid testers seem to have gone now and the sailing club is gearing up for the grand re-opening.

Won't be long now before the Volunteer gardeners get going on the rose gardens, always have a good showing each year.

So there you are, a nice weekend and plenty of people about to chat with if that's your thing.
................................................
That soon changed this morning (Tuesday) when I had to go to Hyde to the NatWest Bank and queued for half an hour outside in the cold while they let only one at a time in!.
If any old folks die shortly it won't be Covid it will be the Queuing in the  cold outside NatWest!, all the super markets seem to have done away with the barriers outside!, perhaps its a cunning plan by the bank to get more people on-line banking, that's all well and good but how do to pay in cheques or draw out more than the £250 you are allowed at the ATMs?.
we were queuing round the block!.
Well that's enough gripping.

All fools day, 1.4.21.

Yesterday Pepe had a trip up to Oldham to his groomer and I think he really enjoys being pampered.

Then we had our first visit to our friends garden for drinks and biscuits, it was very pleasant and sunny made all the better because we hadn't been for ages so had lots to talk about, just catching up with our interests really.

Today All Fools Day, we had our lunch at KFC at Denton, never seen it so busy, perhaps it was everyone enjoying their first outing for ages.

After leaving friends David & Sheree we dropped down to Debdale Park but McDonald's was very busy so had to forego the coffee break and head straight for the Orchard in the park to top up the feeders there.

Couple of Jays soon appeared, think they must smell the monkey nuts.

                                                                 Hello Pepe!.

No show without the Magpie showing up.

                                            Any Monkey nuts today Pepe?.

Knew you wouldn't let us down!.

                                                  The acrobatic Nuthatch.

                                           The very colourful Male Chaffinch.

                                                       and his paler mate.

So then it was a nice Ice Cream and home to get Pepe's dinner.
