More out and about & OL2

Yesterday Pepe and I had a day at Etherow after having helped John out the two previous days painting, not as in Van Gogh, but as in Toilets and Kitchens!.
We had a nice walk round the big lake yesterday with Sylvia (a Etherow friend), and her new dog "Molly", Pepe seems to be getting over his trauma from 18 mths ago when a Jack Russell went for him whilst walking round the lake with his Mum!, it takes time for them to get their confidence back again doesn't it, he's much happier now and not yapping as much.

Had lunch at the Cafe,
Where's the chip butties then?

Then back home I started on the battery boxes for OL2 and this is the results.
Places for two lead acid batteries, as in this case One 12v and 1 6v for the bow thruster, needs packers when sailing to stop the batteries sliding about, a few strips of plastic foam should do it. then realised I wouldn't be abell to reach the prop shaft end of the coupling to oil or adjust in the future so it was out with the hole cutter and produced this,
There you go an nice neat inspection hatch, will make a cover for it later, and notice some of the weight's in the trough for size.
That mahogany wood will be given a coat of varnish before the deck get's put on, won't be abell to reach it then!

And there is Mr Pointy checking out the hole!

So now its on to the motor mounting which will have the motor hanging down from the mount, another Abell idea, what would you you do without friends in the club for advise now and then, when tricky bits turn up in the build. The sloping keel meant that the motor mount was too big and the motor was too high for the prop shaft,"Turn it over" Bob said, as simple as that! that's why he's the engineer and I'm the oil rag!.

A radio announcer is one who works for the love of mike.

The diner called the waiter "I would like to report this meal to the Bureau of Missing Portions"

Fred was the type of bloke who always let his friends pick up the dinner bill, He had an impediment in his reach.
