Crane gantry OL2

Over the last couple of days I've made the crane gantry supports, whilst figuring out what to do in the bottom of the hull.
Here are the posts made up, with the instructions of how to go about it very clearly laid out in the manual

And here is the position on the rear deck.
They are not fixed in yet as they would be in the way and catching everything while working on other parts of the boat later on.

Then it was on to the crane gantry!.
Most parts cut out

And there he is the Pointy man! finally arrived from his last job on the railways in Oldham, I think he's been moonlighting on the Metro link there, they need a few more workers to get the job done quicker!
there again he could have come here Via Hyde and took that literally.
 What a Plonker!.
Me that is, finally found him at the bottom of the spares box where he had fell right to the bottom amongst all the other junk!.

Hope he doesn't get in the way of the Inspectors here and get their backs up.
"This is the wrong way up" he say's, We know that, still working on it.

And there he is again poking his nose in as well, the gantry just placed there for effect and measurements check, none of this fixed yet.

Son John gave me some lead weights the other day, poss-abell to use instead of the milk bottles suggested, don't fancy playing with the water at the lake every time I go filling and emptying them.
Ballast suggestions are 1Kg of lead in the bow and stern, 2x 12v lead acid batteries and 2x 4pint milk bottles full of water from the lake!, you don't want to be carrying that lot very far do you!
So there is the plan
Equal weigh of water bottle and yes you've guessed it a stack of old vertical blind weights.

A bit less bulk and not as many health problems, just need to make the inside so I can get them in and out when I've made them into a solid lump.
Thinking of cutting another hatch in the deck at the front as another chap has done on one of the website forums??, the weights are smaller in bulk than the milk cartons so may not need to.
Watch this space?

To-days jokes

..........................................................................................................

Yesterday the postman delivered a Domino's pizza leaflet and a Farm foods leaflet to every door in the road, where they had mail or not, No wonder the post is always late these days, and I'll bet Domino's and Farmfood's aren't paying 60p a time as I had to do to post a letter yesterday.
That's another joke.
