Monday 16 March 2015

Over the weekend 14th-15th March 2015

Not much going on at the lake on Saturday, so it was a nice walk round the lakes with Pepe.

Saw this fisherman pull this 17lbs carp out of the lake, need a lot of chips with that hey!.

Some of the wild life seen whilst walking.
Look at the size of those feet on this Moorhen!.

More mandarins

You don't normally see any White on them, but tempted these out of the water with some seed.

On the bridge

As you can see nice White bellies

Some nice ducks again, quite a bit larger these though

All the ducks and geese are getting the nests ready now, can't wait to see this years chicks!.

On the Sunday there was the Steering Comp on at the club,

During the week I started taking up the decking, if you remember I slipped and fell on it in the frosty weather so decided not the give it another chance to catch me out again.

I had bought this saw from B&Q a few weeks ago when it was on offer, am I glad I did as it's been brilliant and well worth the money

£29.95

"The first cut is the deepest" they say or was that a song from the past?.

Second bite at it.

All done and the inspector checking it out to make sure its been done properly, you know what they say "There's no show without Punch"
So it's just a going over with the Jet washer now to clean it all up, and get rid of the scrap wood of course, going to use some of it to strengthen the bottom of the fence you can see there, as next doors puppy is trying to get though to play with Pepe, it will learn that he's not very pleased with other dogs!

This past weeks bargains
Hadn't seen this hardback book in the shops and there it was in a charity shop at 75p!,

Saw it the next day in Morrisons  at £18.99, with paperback at half price £3.99!.

Then picked up this nice big plant pot, thought that looks nice and warm for one of my Mother-in- Law's Tongue cactus, that will last in there for a few years, they usually burst the pot when they get too big!

Well that's all for now folks

What does the dentist of the year get?.
A little plaque!.

Doctor Doctor, I keep thinking I'm a spoon.
Well sit there and don't stir.
